It's really not.

Talk shows don't usually pay anything. Cameos pay very little, and how many cameos could she possibly make?

This is probably a lateral move at worst. Being a big fish in a little pond is far more lucrative than being a minor character in a Disney show.

Twitter has a culture of stalking. People are less inclined to do the same thing on Instagram. There's also a new global ban function this year that de-incentivizes trolls, plus a word filtering system. Congress has been on their ass about cracking down on bullying so IG has taken a lot of measures.

I'm more likely to believe that she felt Twitter wasn't that useful as a social media channel for her, and more useful as a martyr to stir up buzz around her and this and whatever other projects she may have rolling along.
