OKC signs Morrow with 3 yr, 10 million (team option on the 3rd)

Crown the Thunder.
I'm just happy we signed an aggressive 3 point shooter who isn't afraid to take a shot in crunch time. I bet I like him way more than Thabo (especially the Thabo that couldn't play D). Now I'm just crossing my fingers that they either don't sign Caron Butler back or someone kick's Scott Brooks in the ass every time he puts Butler in the game over Jeremy Lamb. The Thunder need Lamb to grow into a playoff level SG this season and he cannot do that on the bench.

Not sure if the article hits on it because I'm too lazy to click and skim it, but the reasoning that I'm hearing is that they're trying to trade for Rondo.

It is fun for me, an Oklahoma transplant living in Houston, to listen to the sports talk shows and thier predictions on what happens now. They were all bitching and complaining about how bad Jeremy Lin sucked and how awful his contract is (I agree, it was awful); however, he was a servicable back up PG to Beverly. Now when Beverly needs a break or gets injured (again) his relpacement is Isaiah Canaan. Yeah, THAT Isaiah Canaan. They lost out on Bosh, give up Parsons, and are now pretty shakey at PG but all of the media is saying theymayhave gotten alittle bitworse. Hysterical.

DeRozan is one of 19 to make the cut for Team USA training camp. So, that's cool.

But, really, Rose accepted an invite? Does he hate his knees or something?

I'm sick of watching each off-season go by while the Thunder refuse to make any moves to actually get better. I've decided that the ownership group is content with just making money off of KD while he is here and don't really care about putting together a true contender. We are so fucked in 2016.

What moves were available to the Thunder that they didn't jump on?
All reports on the Pau Gasol deal were that the Thunder wouldn't sign him for the money he wanted.

In any case, for the last 3 years they've needed an inside presence that could score and draw defenders to the paint to take pressure (especially double teams) off Durant and the guards. Serge doesn't count because he is a spot up shooter with no power or back to the basket game. They lucked out that Stephen Adams kind of fits that bill, but not nearly to the extent they need. In that regard, there has been exactly zero movement in any way by the team. It is terrible.

McGary! Joking, but the kid looks like he might be a steal.

The NBA thread seems to have more people from or in Oklahoma than one would expect.

We're just all wasting time watching the Thunder until Sooners start playing football again....

Just kidding, I was an NBA fan way before I even knew what college football was. I had a Michael Finley rookie Suns jersey for fuck's sake.

Thunder are at least competitive. Lakers are going all in with the "We're the fucking Lakers" strategy and expecting superstars to flock to them.

A lot of Texans (read: Texas Longhorns fans) are Thunder fans.

I hate hearing the excuse the Thunder couldn't fit Gasol's salary under the cap. Amnesty Perkins you useless fucks.

Anthony Davis hype train! I think NO will be much much better this year with Asik and a healthy Anderson.

Thunder will be better this year, but I think they realized they need to rest KD during the regular season. Not as much as they rested WB, but not running him as ragged when it doesn't really matter.

Because this contract is awful. It made perfect sense to match after getting Bosh, getting the ok from ownership to go over the tax line and having your team set. Right now Morey still wants flexibility to keep going after max free agents. Picking up this option prevents that for two years entirely.
^bingo. That is pretty much what he said yesterday on asports radio station here in Houston.

He took a helluva jab at Mark Cuban during that interview as well. Something along the lines of, "The good teams are the ones that find the Chandler Parsons, not the ones that pay them".

It's a good jab, but Mark Cuban's team will be better than his this year and they have a recent title. I'm no Mavs fan, but they have the scoreboard on the Rockets at this point.
