LOL ok we'll just let the season play its self out. I'm guessing your "Potential MVP, perennial all star, best SG in the leauge, top 5 player" doesn't lead his team to higher than the 6 seed. I'm also doubting there will be any miracle collapses this year to help out.

Putting him as the top SG in the league doesn't say much. There's also no way he's top 5. Curry, Lebron, Davis, Durant, Westbrook, and Paul are easily above him.

In what context? 12 games? Was he a top 5 player last year? How about over the span of the last two seasons?

LOL. [Insert baseless prediction]! You'll see in 6 months!

Good discussion, bro. We both really learned things here I think.

KAT will be better than Anthony Davis.

Wiggins is McGrady 2.0

McHale deserved to be fired. Karma for that under the table deal he did here in MN with Joe Smith.

Kevin Love complains about fouls too much to ever gain the trust of his teammates.

4 of the 6 names on that list have histories of not being on the court for long periods of time in multiple seasons. A part being great is being on the floor to perform. If you are putting up DNP - Injury, that is a 0 production for that game.

I'm sure we can cherry pick a time frame to make anyone look great/bad. I'm going off of this year since that's what is most relevant. It's not a huge sample size, but the way someone played at the beginning of last year isn't relevant, either.

I don't buy the blabla can never win you a championship stuff. I just think he's a bad defender and his offense relies on getting a lot of calls from the refs which isn't something you can count on.

This small ball lineup is so much fun to watch. Draymond picks up the ball at the point and suddenly in less than 3 passes that take less than 2 seconds someone is shooting some high percentage shot.

All the people that didn't realize Jonas Valanciunas was the Raptor's 2nd best player are about to see how much he meant to this team. A part of me is hoping they lose the next 10 and Casey gets fired, but I have no idea who they'd replace him with at this point in the season. The whole season just feels like a waste when I know that in the end he can't coach his team through a 7-game series. Is Luke Walton available?

Thibs is still out there!

Jonas V has been a really productive player for a long time. He's always been such low usage on that team though. They really need to figure out how to get him more than 8 shots but that's maybe easier said than done considering the glut of offensive minded players the Raps have.

I don't think Casey is a horrible coach. I certainly like him better than Sam Mitchell if we want to continue this talk of guys that have coached both in TOR and here in MIN.

The real problem with NBA coaching is it's such a circle jerk. Very few top end talent guys and then a bunch of retreads that just cycle around the league never having a ton of success and the worst part of that is they'r almost always ex players stuck in how the game was played in the past. The NBA today is so much different than it was even a decade ago and it takes something special for a coach to evolve over that time. It's the reason Pop is the greatest coach of all time. But guys like Casey, Mitchell, Wittman, Gentry, Scott, Hollins...you just tread water with any of those guys.

The hope would be that seeing the success people like Kidd and Kerr have and extending that to Spoelstra/Stephens/Hoiberg/Snyders (actual young innovators) that owners smarten up and realize you don't need geezer ex players and Spurs assistants exclusively (nothing wrong with Spurs assistants though).

Yeah, I'd take Thibs probably. And I agree that Casey isn't horrible. I would love him to stay on as a defensive assistant, but he doesn't have a mind for offense, and he's the worst at identifying and utilizing the talent levels of his own players. Basically a great assistant, but not head coach material.

The big difference between eli and romo is eli has receivers that reach for the ball, romo has receivers that reach for PI flags. I say this as a long time cowboys fan, god do I want to slap the shit out of dez sometimes. Fucking go for the ball you mongloid. This isn't basketball shithead.

They need to bring a penalty in for flag dancing or something, cause I fucking hate that shit.

Curry didn't have his best night but still the Warriors win to go 15-0 to tie the NBA record.

Next game up is Lakers so pretty much a given to break that record. Would be amusing to see Kobe witness the record being broken on him.

cant believe there was 2 pages entertaining an argument of someone's personal opinion of what he knows about someone he's never met. essentially saying "yeah he doesn't have a history of the things i said about him, nor any stats to back up that part of my argument either.. but still!"

Rockets are playing like shit either way. Surprised McHale was let go because of how quickly it was into his extension and the slight overachieving he did last year. I assumed a move like that meant Morey had someone in the wings or a trade in his pocket, doesn't seem to be the case and Lawson is destroying all his value in his contract year. I don't get it

Harden is a good volume shooter who can drop 40 points on any night, against any defense, scheme or ability. But he is awful at playing defense himself and it hurts his team.

Look at a guy like Westbrook aka Duckmouth who actually does have a moderate defensive work effort. Ive watched him swat the fuck out of big men after going coast to coast. Harden has the athletic ability to get it done I think but he is like a striker in soccer, he doesnt feel like he should spend his energy making people earn a high % shot.

So the warriors aren't even bothering to take names at this point. Just rolling over people. Where does it end?
(next 10 games)
Tue, Nov 24 vs Los Angeles
Fri, Nov 27 @ Phoenix
Sat, Nov 28 vs Sacramento
Mon, Nov 30 @ Utah
Wed, Dec 2 @ Charlotte
Sat, Dec 5 @ Toronto
Sun, Dec 6 @ Brooklyn
Tue, Dec 8 @ Indiana
Fri, Dec 11 @ Boston
Sat, Dec 12 @ Milwaukee

I will say the 3rd game in 4 days that ends @Utah will be their first loss. The NBA has always scheduled guaranteed endurance losses into the season for years now.

He's never going to be a good defensive player. It's a mix of instincts and effort. He doesn't have much of either. But a player that shoots 38% from behind the arc, gets to the line 10 times a game, grabs 6 boards, dishes out 7 assists, and gets 2 steals...that's a guy doing a hell of a lot to help a team win.

You can knock him for his defense all you want. It's a legit complaint, but don't do that and then just ignore the other side of the ball. I'm not responding to you specifically here Jozu, just the tone of the couple people in the thread that have bias against the Rockets for whatever reason.

Somewhere in that road trip would be my guess.
