Kobe's team beats any of the others in a 7 game series. Poor MJ saddled with in-his-prime-Wade AND in-his-prime-AI? Not near enough balls on the court for that team.

I never even said Kobe's a better player, just that Kobe had a better career. I've made that distinction multiple times now. They're too different of players and from 2 completely different times to try and do a direct comparison. You can't seem to comprehend that because you're not very bright. You just had to throw a temper tantrum because Kobe was "highlighted" and you went full on frothing at the mouth super rage mode about something nobody else gave a shit about.

You saying Bird is even on Kareem's level is pretty bad, though. Trying to act like you know anything about basketball then coming out with that? lol

HEY! Dwayne Wade only ball hogged during his prime because he HAD to, he rarely had another player of his caliber on the court until Shaq joined, and he shared just fine then. Putting Wade on the level of Iverson/Kobe ball hogging is an insult sir, AN INSULT!

I do want to echo the statement that Steph Curry should be on one of these teams over one of Westbrook/Davis/Iverson/Wade though. If one good season from Davis is enough, then Curry's season and a half is plenty and he's worthy of hanging with these other GOATS. I think whichever team he goes to, especially if it's 2 or 4, they become the best team, though. His lights out shooting would add so much to any of these teams, who are all so stacked on interior play.

edit: P.S. I feel like this is what heaven would be like for these athletes and basketball fans.. Watching these guys play together in their prime.

That's part of the dumb argument you're making, though. That, sure, one player is better, but the other had a better career. The discussion is which team was better. Not which team would be better over the course of their careers.

You admit Kobe's first few years hurt his stats, but also claim that those years adding to his longevity made his career better? So, bonus years of questionable contribution makes for a better career? Got it.

Again, I'm an admitted Kobe apologist. You're a retard.

Also note: If Kareem is way better than Bird (and had a better career?!). And I presume you're smart enough to understand Bird and Magic were peers (career comparison please!). So, Bird was winning his championships against all time greats vs Kobe winning 3 of his WITH an all time great. Again, Kobe apologist checking in to admit his 5 championships are equal to or less meaningful than bird's 3. Or are you saying Robert Parish had a better career than Shaq?

Seriously, what's with the obsession with 'better career?' I don't think I've ever seen anyone so interested in that discussion.

Man. Glad I was gone for the past couple pages.

I'm not shy with my feelings about Kobe. I think he's just about the most overrated "superstar" to ever play the game. He was a volume scorer that was largely inefficient that played on incredibly talented teams. He was considered clutch because he was on TV more than anyone else taking the most end game shots. No one remembers the misses. Replace him with any other prominent volume scorer wing from the hero ball era and you'd be talking about some other guy with 5 rings (Ray Allen, Wade, Vince, McGrady, etc). I don't care how many rings he has, I don't care how many media voted awards he's won. His best seasons don't even come close to the echelon of players he's being compared to. He was simply the most popular player on the league's best (and most popular) team for a 15 year stretch (couple years between Shaq and Gasol aside).

He still deserves a place in history for sure. He's pretty much the defining player of that hero ball era I mention above and I think his 06 year was pretty spectacular for what it was (usage at a level really unheard of). But those players don't exist anymore and it isn't because of a loss of talent. It's because teams figured out you can score points in other ways than giving a player 25 shots a game to do whatever he wants with.

The Bird/Kobe discussion is lawlz inducing. Whatever metric you want to use, "player" or "career" or whatever, Kobe isn't coming out top of that one.

As far as I'm concerned, if you shoot 49% from the floor and get to the line 10 times a game, you can hog the ball all you want.

You're a fucking idiot. This was spawned from a tangent Djay went on because it was a travesty that Kobe was "highlighted" in a Facebook post. That's why I brought up the career.

A direct "Who's better?" comparison across eras with two completely different types of players, playing completely different types of positions, is retarded. The league averaged almost 110ppg during Bird's era and most of Kobe's career had the average team scoring in the mid 90s. The stats just aren't going to match up. Averaging 35 ppg when the league average is 95 is a little different than averaging 24ppg when the league is averaging 110ppg.

If you want a direct comparison, Bird appears to be a much less athletic version of Kevin Durant except Durant is also a much better shooter, scorer, and defender.

And your side note makes no sense either. Bird played with all time greats and Kobe went through all time greats as well, what is your retarded point supposed to be?

I'd say you're definitely an all-time twat, but don't yet have the best career as a twat just yet. Basically, you're Kobe, great at being a twat on a selfish, individual level. Whereas Mist is Bird, a legendary twat.

Kobe is great, arguably. Bird is great, and made others great, with little argument.

In conclusion, try harder, retarder.

Small point cause damn this argument deserves pitchers and a round table.

Houston apologist here. That MJ team had three of the best defenders ever. Also Olajuwon and Robinson are centers but had the athleticism to guard anyone. The Iverson inclusion is what fucks up that team. Overall having Iverson on any team battle discussion fucks it up.

Tldr; fuck Iverson.

I want to go to a Warriors game. They're so damn expensive now. Second hand tickets for tonight's game are going for around $70 for shit seats. I used to be able to buy tickets for $20. Games on the weekend are going for over $150 sometimes. I spent $175 on tickets to Game 5 of the WCF last year. Does not compute.
