the name is so good that i have to keep it a secret until i actually lock it down =p

when i tried to create a character named Pharmakos on beta the server wouldn't let me. not sure if someone else was using the name or if it was just a fluke. been paranoid about my names since then.

will be erudite, though

No idea what I wanna play. Debating on Shadow Knight, Paladin, Ranger, Necro, Mage, or Monk (I really got it narrowed down)... Any real point to playing either a SK or Paladin (not really looking to tank much)? I hardly know shit about rangers, are they any fun to play at all? Any solo ability? Loved playing my alt necro back in the day, I am assuming they're more exciting than Mage's but is there really real reason to play them with how OP Mage pets are? When would I actually ever use weapons for a monk with hand-to-hand as OP as it is?

Careful with necros so you know what you are getting into. Within the last couple pages there was some talk about them.

Made the decision last night to put Live on the backburner and go hard on Ragefire. Going to 4-box but haven't settled on the comp yet.

Monks will use fists literally forever I think? Maybe end-game Velious there is something slightly better. Rangers can sort of bow kite later on, but it's slow and not great, otherwise their solo is mostly as bad as any of the melee hybrids (better than warriors/rogues, far worse than casters). Necros are almost certainly less overall dps than a mage, especially in a group setting, but have infinitely more utility and ability to solo camp mobs etc.

got my plan for the first 30 seconds down. turn in newbie note, immediately sell the robe my GM hands me, buy Pendril's Animation and 5 Tiny Daggers.

second part of the plan is to focus on getting EXP from kobolds, for Paineel faction, so i can go kill Paineel guards. BUT now that i think about it -- can you still kill guard NPCs on live? seems like that may have been nerfed at some point.

Just the ones that guard newbie areas - non newbie yard guards are largely killable.

Dang, look at all the enchanters rolling up. There better not be lack of Clarity being shared going around!

Edit: It's gonna be interesting to see what zone turns into the trade zone, and will there be Port bots? and who's gonna be the major casino. Who's gonna be the biggest escrow guy like Bob was for P99 back in Classic. lol

Also, we have any voice chat established? I assume TFO and other guilds will have their own. I have a Mumble server I'm more than willing to let people use.
