Want to come play battletech with me? We can cyberz between flashpoints. This game is okay but has a distinct lack of eyebeam lasers, not sure I could get into it longterm.
This game turned out to be quite fun for me, crafting is great, combat is challenging, dungeons can be rough and it plays rather well. Not sure what all the hate is about in here or if ya'll are just that jaded.
I look forward to farming the ganja on release.

Yup, best MMO to come along in awhile but that isn’t saying much. This game turned out to be quite fun for me, crafting is great, combat is challenging, dungeons can be rough and it plays rather well. Not sure what all the hate is about in here or if ya'll are just that jaded.

This almost sounds like 1.0 of FFXIV.My issues with the game are pretty simple to explain.
Grouping is shit. The fact that there's no way to start with friends at the beginning is going to suck. Yeah, you can spend a half hour trying to run to the same city, but that's some crappy workaround. Quests not being shared is the second one. So once you're at the same city, you can group up, but you're basically just grouped to solo your own content.
The mob variety is just...baffling. There is an extreme lack of it.
Finally the questing. The variety here is abysmal as well. Essentially one main quest, and then the town boards and faction missions, of which there are maybe 8 different kinds?
The crafting system is phenomenal though, and I'm looking forward to that. That's really it. And because it'll be the fresh new MMO.
I kind of hope that this is the issue in that it got resolved after a while. This almost sounds like 1.0 of FFXIV.
Yeah that makes sense and I understand it - but it is still a bit annoying. Do your quests not get messed up if you travel right at beginning?Starting different areas I think is almost a must have. Considering the amount of players and if you tried to cram them all into 1 starter area? Forget about it. You have to spread out that population at first or it would be a nightmare. If you absolutely cannot play without your buddy, take the barely if any time to run over to them. Remember this isn't a game with different racers that automatically splits of the population. Imagine for instance if you logged into WoW or FXXVI on day one and the entire server started in the same spot and zone.
People come into mmorpgs as some way of life type shit. I have stopped dong this back in 2006 and wow vanilla, lol. Play the game, enjoy the content, and when it gets boring, fucking quit. Play solo, play with your buddies whatever, Choose Life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a fucking big television, choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol, and dental insurance. Choose fixed interest mortage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisurewear and matching luggage. Choose a three-piece suite on hire purchase in a range of fucking fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who the fuck you are on a Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pishing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, fucked up brats you spawned to replace yourself. Choose your future. Choose life… But why would I want to do a thing like that? I chose not to choose life. I chose somethin’ else. And the reasons? There are no reasons.
The forum representative said in the closed beta that there is no work around intended at "that time" for people to be able to start together. Stating that you have to finish the MSQ up to a point.. where I want to say, was after you choose your covenant or the next quest leads you to the Hermit west of Windsward. Not a deal breaker for most people I would imagine, but not ideal. Im sure people can think of ways to handle it better, but since the system is already in place - changing or making code for that option doesnt seem practical in my mind.Yeah that makes sense and I understand it - but it is still a bit annoying. Do your quests not get messed up if you travel right at beginning?
If you have played the betas then you should likely get to start questing together within a few hours. Annoying but in the grand scheme not terrible. Probably don't want to try my luck rerolling my character or recreating in hopes of getting in same area as friends
