Edit: Honestly - I think the game is being handled fine. The development team is showing progress, learning, and genuinely connecting. I know business is business and you fail, you fuck up, and you lose. However I just don't think that this is the case.

I just got done watching that. Few things I think they should have addressed that they didnt, but they did cover a lot of ground in that. Im happy the Mutation dungeons are coming in January, or at least to PTR. Also good to know that they truthfully admitted that the reward for dungeons is lacking at best. I agree though, that the dev team "appears" to at least be getting a handle on things. Took them 3 months and losing 90% of its player base, but it is what it is.

- Firestaff will probably get a damage buff. Ice Guantelet should get more CC. They feel they need to amp both up a little bit
- In December expect OPR to have lower afk timers and bot detection as well as changing the score system
- Blunderbuss next weapon to be released
- "Run and gun"
- Greatsword "working on it" -Concept of stance switching
- Daggers - On the table, near front but its not their yet
- Shield + another weapon not on table yet
- Lead dev is a great axe / hammer user
- Doing high level Mutators will give you a brand new resource needed to upgrade specific weapons. This will be needed to do the higher level mutators.
- They will be reducing the distance cost modifier on azoth shrines and adding more shrines in the world to key locations
- shrines will be on the map specifically even before you discover them so you know where they are instead of just a ?
- Working on a whole branch of new quests.
- They are excited about quests where npcs follow you.
- They plan on wrapping up the 1st chapter of main story quests. In the future they will introduce more Historical and Mythological figures into the mix
- They want to add more "discoverable" things. Similar to the Ghost Ship in Monarchs Bluff.
- They heard the community loud and clear that they wanted to see them do a run through Myrkgard. They went under geared 510gs, didn't have their best player and will be releasing the video shortly.

They shall from this time on be called......Escort Quests.
The quests will of course never bug out and have the NPC just run off or get stuck on terrain. That would never happen. The game could not possibly refuse to give you credit for the quest once the NPC got to its location. It will work just fine.
But most importantly, there will not come a point when a player has to hand an item in to the NPC and create two such items. No Duplication bug could ever result from these brand new quests.

Judging by the subreddit and official forum's first pages, it's gone from 90% negativity to 90% positive threads. So I think we're at a place now where yeah, they lost 95% of the player-base, but the 5% that is there are die hard fans, and it'll take a Christmas miracle to get them to quit.

Proof Amazon has 0 concept of brand management or quality control. I don't see Disney doing the same shit with any of their studios.
It's weird-- Amazon is willing to tie the show into New World just to maybe sell a handful more boxes off the WoT franchise name. "If we can even sell just 500 more copies man". Smacks of bush league.

Twitch does promos like this all the time. It's basically free money for them, why the fuck wouldnt they do it? Even if the probability of effective cross promotion doesn't pan out, free cosmetics are always popular.

Ha, bro I just thought it was funny cause there are multiple pages on multiple forums, this one included, where they shit all over the costume designer for WoT - then they go and make a cross over with New World, which has 90% of its cash shop skins looks terrible, too! I'm glad its free cause one is literally just a recolor of one of the skins we already have. Which leads me to believe they never do intend to allow us to customize the colors for cash shop items just so they can do this. I dont hate the game, but I do recognize its faults lol.

Oh I don’t argue on the transparent predatory practices in NW. it’s clear they intended to charge RL money for lots of shit and backed down at the last minute, but failed to change any game mechanics

From that video, it looks like they're doing serverside hit detection for melee and maybe were not before?
While playing, I very impressed with their hit detection combined with the network performance with large scale battles.
Two problem with melee detection are:
1. Small difference in latency mean a hit or not.
2. To do it accurately, you actually have to play the character animation and check if the weapon collides. This is prohibitively expensive on the server.
If they did it client side, they would be able to avoid that but have to deal with cheating.
I imagine they moved it serverside and then did a box/sphere scene query in front of the player. Less accurate and with lag, could produce the artifacts in the video seeing.
It turns out they were not gods - they just didn't prevent cheating.
