Is there any sort of organization mentioned so far for this? I'd be up for some forum-bro action if the game isn't total shit.

We're winging it. Bring forth our most incompetent to be the town mayor. We can prob theorycraft the group projects on dicksword though.

My interest in this game is growing. Pretty much every time they announce something these days, I find it interesting and my interest grows a bit.

Definitely much higher now than after I got into the alpha where I simply didn't like it at all.

While my interest in growing, not sure how much of it is because it looks interesting vs there's absolutely nothing else out there. :)

Yeah now that they announced some PVE stuff it seems more interesting. Before it was essentially Minecraft servers with better graphics.

I created my character and got through the intro before logging off, I'll try to give it more of a chance this time around.
1 thing bothering me is the combat pace, but maybe it's nbd.
I don't like clunky combat and this has a lot of wait time between attacks/movements.
The intro/tutorial seems 100% identical to last beta, also nbd.
Main change I'll look forward to is the lack of people waiting in starter zones to kill newbies.
However since my playtime is limited I probably won't get very far in this game still.

The visuals are really great btw. One of the best looking MMOs imo.
Not overly sexualized & avoids uncanny valley, while still leaning toward realism.

I was on board until you called it FoHVille. I need to game hard. And if we can't manage to at least make a city I'm out.

lol we can call it whatever you want. I don't care.

I am curious how this realm v realm shit works. If you have a town and get PVPed do you lose your house and shit? If you don't whats the point? New boss same as the old boss change of power or something?

Hmm I thought I heard in one of the videos that the housing stays even if the "territory" it resides in is taken by another company(guild). The main difference would be the new company could change taxes, buffs and other things these settlements provide/take.

Since iirc the places with player housing is different from the keep/castle you defend/attack in pvp. And the setttlement are not for just that company that owns the area, but anyone. Which seems odd, if say your guild owns an area but you can't have your house nearby as its taken by a bunch of randoms. I guess you could raise taxes so high they move out if you really wanted your guild to have houses in your area. I need more information.

Sounds like this can't happen. Each plot can have unlimited numbers of instanced homes on it. It's more like the WoW garrison.

Ah, that's pretty cool then. From the videos I saw of settlements slowly growing, I thought there was limited number of "plots" or such. I guess they could just have a variety of different housing types to fill out the areas where infrastructure and such doesn't fill in. I wonder if the housing is just set layouts and looks or if you can build your own.

So sort of like BDO housing? You walk up to a door and have any number of instances available to zone into?

I can see the pro and cons of both. I've seen unlimited housing like in BDO and then limited housing like archeage.

But the video of recent gameplay had them building out their town. Expanding the walls and new buildings and shit.

This would be the logical way to do it if you don't want to cap city size. But at the same time you would want to cap city size to get players to build cities elsewhere. I am going to have to assume that a city can only offer X amount of buffs out of a pool of them at any time along with diminishing returns on adding more. Or big crafting projects and the like.

Yeah I saw that too. I wonder if it just opening more options. Like bigger houses, better infrastructure etc.

Yeah I wouldn't mind seeing a cap, otherwise everyone just what dog piles into what turns out the best area(lowest taxes, best buffs, with best surroundings etc). Would have to have some way of forcing people to expand and fill out the othe areas. Especially if there are taxes involved, since you can't have one area become the only place people live and fight over.

There are a number of plots you can choose to build a house on. Each of those plots can have an unlimited number of houses on them.

Okay how does that solve the problem of everyone being in the same town?

There needs to be compelling reasons to build a town in one spot over another. A reason to not have a megacity.

This kind of shit is why I love MMO design.

I'm guessing the politics in each region and the controlling interests are going to be the reasons. Logistics of a megacity will be a lot more difficult and taxes and upkeep will be a totally different animal than a small village. This feels very much like a game that will have a lot of its content driven by political intrigue.

These could also just be shallow game systems designed to entice box purchases but are really just a bad bill of goods. There is so little information on this game atm it makes you wonder...
