I'm sorry but this game looks like dogshit. Three active skills, a dodge, and a block... while everyone looks almost identical. I got bored just watching it for 10 minutes.

Looks like Smed pumped out another mediocre MMO.
So... EQ 1 pre-Kunark?

Well when everyone is low level they are all gonna have a_white_shirt00 and a_pants00 so maybe in a day or so it will get a bit more flavour.

I agree though, the west just can't do character art.

I can live with it though as western games are better in every other way.

Haha maybe. BTW, if you guys crash in the first town, turn your vid options all the way up. Looks like a missing level of detail or something.

Started a character on Knot. This is definitely not a hotbar MMO -- ashes of creation is thata way. I personally enjoy the core combat so far, it isn't terrible -- it's quite responsive, when I do shit my dude is responding. There's 3 abilities for each weapon type equipped and by 30 you'll have 3 looks like for a total of 9 abilities. Weapon swapping will need to be quick and satisfying at end game for fluid combat/builds I think.

The game does need another year though; majority of weapon types aren't in the game which is kinda boring imo plus the obvious lack of a developed "world". If they can keep up their own momentum and carry on I think in a year this will see a solid release. Look forward to playing for the next 10 days and would rather they just do a permanent early access but w/e.

I also like the built in voice chat -- some of you may want to turn area chat off tho.

You're telling me we have to actually play the game? *Gasp*!

I do like the combat thus far.

I mean, its just like if GW2 implemented a bit of survivability. I'd be ok with them going back to the drawing board at this point because this isnt anything id actually pay for.

To me the game graphically looks good, but it looks lackluster. I don't get the "oh wow, I need to play it vibe".

How's this territory control shit work? Guilds already claiming places. Wtf is this war ? I like how you earn rep and perks with a zone/settlement -- reduced taxes, exp bonus, etc. is the settlement storage global or per town? Will end game have one guild basically owning a server? I foresee much death and taxes. What kind of settlement would FoH be? I believe thre's some world group pve content but was there any mention of dungeons?

This is a game made for consoles and their solution to limited buttons is this weapons swapping system, which is lackluster. When you use an ability in slot 1, whatever that abilities cooldown is, puts every other ability in slot 1 on that cooldown.

For example, if I had the following set up (cooldown times are for demonstration purposes and are not accurate):
(Weapon Slot 1) Healing staff:
Slot 1: Blink (10 second cooldown)
Slot 2: Heal (2 second cooldown)
Slot 3: Group heal (5 second cooldown)
(Weapon Slot 2) Fire Staff:
Slot 1: Fireball (3 second cooldown)
Slot 2: Meteor (20 second cooldown)
Slot 3: Flame Dash (10 second cooldown)
(Weapon Slot 3) Musket:
Slot 1: Feign Death (8 second cooldown)
Slot 2: Sniper Shot (12 second cooldown)
Slot 3: Cant_Remember_Ability_012 (99 second cooldown)
When I casts Slot 1: Blink it also puts Slot 1: Fireball and Slot 1: Feign Death on a 10 second cooldown. So if I was to Slot 2: Sniper Shot, switch to Fire staff, Slot 3: Flame Dash, switch to healing staff, and Slot 1: Blink, then all my abilities would be locked in cooldown for ~8+ more seconds.

That sounds frustrating and hopefully in the long run it is adjusted after the combat is scrutinized more -- was hoping for something open ended like eso

I've watched enough of this today to feel qualified in saying it looks shitty.

Watching asmongold's stream on and off for 6 or so hours he's been playing.

Think you get to level 10 first, then you join one of the 3 factions, which then you can create/join guilds. You can upgrade the territory for bonuses, and schedule the 50v50 for territory control I believe.

Think someone mentioned the storage is per settlement.

Game looks interesting, didn't really take it seriously before, the 50v50 scheduling is a little lame, I wonder if there's smaller fights you can get into like 10v10v10 or 15v15 type of things. Looking for something to replace guildwars2 wvw (that will continue to rot cause anet never gave a fuck about it).

Ya. Game is MMO_01.

They really need more than 3 skills per weapon. Even at level whatever I am, it's gotten old fast. Even 5 wouldn't be enough with some of these cool down times.

Graphics are fine IMO. BUT in the city pulling under 40 FPS at 3860x1200 high settings. Outside the city about 60FPS. Not smooth at all.
