The guys on the radio were clowning the Cowboy's pretty hard. They said if Garrett goes 8 and 8 with the Cowboy's this year he should get coach of the year.

If Romo is healthy all year they can get to 8.

I don't really think the defense got worse (Ware and Hatcher were shells of themselves after game 8ish), and outside of Carr and Church the rest of the defense was injured and they were playing sub replacement level players (due to injuries everywhere). So they may be lacking Ware but overall it's better players on that side than they had at the end of last season, plus Rod Marinelli instead of Kiffin as the DC is worth something.

The offense should be even better (again assuming Romo health) - they have have a ~top 3 offensive line now, plus they got rid of Miles Austin and that should open the door for more Terrance Williams and Cole Beasley passes.

It's a damn miracle they got to 8 wins last year with the defense they were trotting out games 7-16.

That's the only thing giving me any hope for the defense. Ware hasn't been Ware for most of the last 2 seasons, so letting him go wasn't really a loss. Same with Lee. Playing their corners who are best in man coverage actually in man coverage should help out a lot also. Kiffin really is incompetent, at least all Dal fans pray that was a big part of it. If they can just be "bad" then they have a shot at the terrible NFC East.

It seems like either SF or Sea will get the first Wildcard spot and the second will probably require 10-6 and some tiebreakers that I doubt Dal would have even if they managed the unlikely record. Of course nobody expected Hou and Ten to be so awful and Car and Ari to be so good last year so there's always people who assume that every year will be just like the last year and making their terrible picks

Some awful GOAT QB rankings from Sports Cheat Sheet

tldr:

1. Joe Montana
2. John Elway
3. Dan Marino
4. Tom Brady
5. Brett Favre
6. Jonny Unitas
7. Peyton Manning
8. Steve Young
9. Otto Graham
10. Fran Tarkenton

The rankings around Peyton, Favre, Elway and Marino make 0 sense.

The only possible way Elway is over Marino is if his rings are factoring in. With that said, how the hell does Peyton end up at 7 if he's won a superbowl?

Favre and Peyton both have 1... and Favre is over Peyton fucking Manning?

Also I'm about ready to include Brees in these top 10 lists. Otto Graham and Fran T can fuck themselves.
He should certainly start being higher on peoples list since hes done some things no other QB ever has. Not sure if he should be in that list though as I don't know enough about the old QBs.

That post was from this year? Seems just like every cowboys preseason post on FoHrolled for ever.

I was thinking of his distinct lack of sean lee in that post. My bad.

Cowboy players are only good when they are healthy enough to play. Once they are injured they aren't important anymore. Remember, the Dallas backups would be starters on any other team!

I had thought the Cowboys defense was in even worse shape than last season. Seems like they've lost damn near everyone to injury.

They certainly did not look impressive in any of the preseason games I watched. It was more like a slow motion car wreck .

John Stewart and Samantha Bee did a fairly funny bit about Michael Sam tonight. Pretty much ripped ESPN's coverage of a non-story, then told Sam he wasn't gaying it up enough. Worked over Charles Haley.

To quote Pearlman: "Haley would stroll up to an unsuspecting (49er) teammate, whip out his phallus, and repeatedly stroke it in his face.

Aaron Rodgers cracks me up. This is what he and Matt Flynn wore to a team luncheon.

They were missing Sean Lee for a lot of last season also, so didn't really seem relevant to mention him when assessing this year's defense. Out last year, out this year, same thing.

God damn I forgot how much talent Miami had in the late 90's/early 2000's. Sean Taylor, Merriweather, and Vince Wilfork all on the field at the same time. In college.
Miami Hurricane's 2001 championship roster:
RB - Clinton Portis
RB - Willis McGahee
RB - Frank Gore
RB - Najeh Davenport
WR - Andre Johnson
TE - Jeremy Shockey
TE - Kellen Winslow Jr

Defense:
Ed Reed
Philip Buchanon
Jonathon Vilma
Antrel Rolle
Vince Wilfork
Sean Taylor

Probably the most ridiculous group of talent ever assembled on 1 college football team.

lol Poor Ken Dorsey. He knew he just wasn't meant for football when he was Cleo Lemon's backup in the CFL.
