If the owner fires Ryan and keeps the front office goons in place welcome to 2-14 next year, too. Geno Smith allegedly got to play tonight because the coaching staff was overruled...and he went 7/13 for 65 yards and a pick. That makes RG3 look like a pro bowler, for fuck's sake.

Despite his loud mouth and cuckold status, Rex Ryan is a good coach. He's being totally fucked by his GM.

Rex is a good DC. He has had some really awful GMs but he hasn't developed a QB worth a shit. You have to develop the QBs in this league. He would have been better than his dad in the day though. Better than his brother too.

Yeah I see Rex as more of a DC than a head coach. Regardless the jets are purgatory right now. They had what? 20m in cap room and did nothing with it? Eyeing the first pick I guess.

Sutekh,

That was one of the worst games I've ever watched. The run D was truly horrible as was the tackling. The OL was weak and Tannehill dumped some passes off quick just because it was terribull. Wallace not knowing how to put two hands on a pass was infuriating as was Hartline getting injured yet again. Is his name Amendola by chance? Really awful game that scares me about Baltimore. They can both pass and run. Tanny will have to play a very good game to win that one. Getting a new D might help too.

Kedwyn,

Eyeing a pick the GM shouldn't be there to use. Idzik is awful.

For whatever reason the Dolphins ALWAYS play like shit against the Jets. I'm not sure if it's just Rex has Miami's number or what but their piss poor performance last night really doesn't phase me all that much. Miami has shown that they're a capable team and the only thing that has changed is losing a couple starters. Hopefully for the Ravens Finnegan and Clay will be back, which are two pretty large missing pieces. Last night and the Broncos game was more of a Kevin Coyle fail than anything. In the first half he was for some reason only putting like 5 players in the box every down. Everyone in the stadium seemed to know the Jets were going to run it instead of Coyle. Once the second half hit there was almost never less than 8 in the box. I have no idea why he was afraid to let R. J. Stanford just play man coverage and stack the box and force Geno Smith to beat you by passing the ball, but he was terrified of it in the first half. This was his exact strategy in the Broncos game ... However forcing Peyton Manning to beat you by passing the ball is a little scarier.

I've got a good feeling about this year.

Rex is a fine Head Coach, he will be someone's DC next year and get another job soon enough. The problem is they never draft any Offensive Players worth a damn, and IzDICK completely ruined his D by giving him junior varsity in high school fucking corners... Rex Ryan's whole Defensive strategy requires corners who can give the LB's and the Line to beat the QB down.

They could have snagged Revis before the patriots got him too. Revis is still destroying worlds. Izdick from day one has been trying to get Sexy Rexy out of a job. Rexy got lucky in games last year and managed to keep it together another year. In 2-3 years the Jets will be competing for the division again and everybody will suck off Izdick and blame Rex. Because that's sport journalism now.

Personally I think Rex is a pretty shitty head coach. He clearly has no interest in developing an offense or drafting for an offense. His entire offensive gameplan seems to be pick up other teams re-tread players and plug them in. He appears to have no goal or clear objective.

Hard to do that without a competent QB. Jets are going nowhere for the foreseeable future, with or without Rex.

They will get Winston or Mariota this year. Minnesota, Tennesse, Patriots, Miami with only NE at home. Those are 3-4 loses. Miami will play them better week 17, especially if they are fighting for a playoff spot. Jets will have a top 5 draft pick.

They have two decent veteran receivers in Decker and Harvin. They can take a flyer on a running back mid rounds in the draft for real depth, and get a Tight end who can catch a ball. Their offensive line is serviceable, they have a top 10 rushing game. Vick is washed up, Johnson is serviceable (4.6 ypc) but not worth it. For the love of god buy a CB
