That's a motherfucker, but it's not the end of the world for him.

Mario Lemieux - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"The Penguins started the 1992-93 season well, and Lemieux set a franchise record with at least one goal in twelve consecutive games, from October 6 to November 1. He was on pace to challenge Gretzky's records of 92 goals in one season (1981-82) and 215 points in one season (1985-86), until January 12, 1993, when he made the shocking announcement that he had been diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma. He was forced to undergo energy-draining aggressive radiation treatments, leaving his career and possibly his survival in doubt. He missed two months of play, and without him, the Penguins struggled. When he returned, he was 12 points behind Buffalo's Pat LaFontaine in the scoring race.

On the day of his last radiation treatment, Lemieux flew to Philadelphia to play against the Flyers, where he scored a goal and an assist in a 5-4 loss.
Before the game Lemieux earned a standing ovation from Philadelphia fans-a rare occurrence for any visiting player, much less a Pittsburgh athlete. With Lemieux back, Pittsburgh won an NHL record 17 consecutive games to finish first overall for the first time in franchise history; their 119 points are still a franchise record. Lemieux scored at an incredible pace, notching an average 2.67 points per game-the third highest points-per-game for a season, behind only Wayne Gretzky's 1983-84 and 1985-86 averages of 2.77 and 2.69, respectively.Lemieux won his second straight and fourth overall scoring title, finishing with 160 points (69 goals, 91 assists) in 60 games, beating out LaFontaine by 12 points."

After that he had another back surgery and took a season or two off to recover from that and fatigue from the radiation treatments. Then he won back to back scoring titles when he came back.

I imagine Mario will call him at some point.

Robert Griffin could be on the cusp of killing two coaches in two years:

The future of Jay Gruden with Washington is in a perilous state with a 3-10 record and uncertainty at the quarterback position.

"One source I trust tipped me off to a potential landing spot for Gruden: The University of Michigan," writes RealGM's Jeff Risdon in his Monday column.

"This source, who is intimately familiar with the Wolverines? rapidly emerging coaching search, informed me on Thursday that initial contact has been made between the parties and that Gruden?s representation was enthusiastically open to the potential."
Anyone else think purple and black are great colors?

I'm honestly getting close to dumping the team. Call me a bandwagon faggot all you want, but it's been over 20 years of just getting worse every year. It really is a circus at this point, and I don't have respect for anyone in the organization. I don't watch the games anymore because the players don't give a shit and the coaches can't seem to change the culture of the team.

I've thought about what will happen if they change the team name and move somewhere else, but I don't think I'd be able to root for the team as long as Snyder is still around.

I bailed last year. Watching Shanahan tool Synder out with the RGKnee benching was the last straw to me. Didn't jump to another bandwagon, I am just a fan of the league in general at this point (and rooting against Dallas).

It all boils down to Snyder. I wouldn't support any business venture he is associated with at this point. As the old saying goes, vote with your wallet. He is one of the youngest owners in the league, so waiting for him to die a la Davis isn't an option. Plus I can't even imagine the entitled, pillow-biting progeny he has produced that will inherit whatever ruins of the franchise he leaves behind.

Fuck Dan Snyder. Fuck him right in the ear.

Is azeth seriously using QBR to support one of his arguments? And no one gives a fuck about how Revis shut down Nelson all day by draping himself on his jersey. What everyone will remember is how he let Jordy score a long TD right before the half on 3rd and 2. That and Tom Brady turning into fucking Kyle Orton in the second half, once he started getting hit.

I am personally a fan of the game and do not have a team. Sean Payton ruins the Saints for me. I hate his bro face. So I love the Jets for funzies lately. But Rex Ryan got boring and thin. I love people getting concussed.

As a result I cannot feel the emotions you feel. I am not sorry for you.

Yes, when Synder turns the organization into an efficiently run machine and an NFL dynasty I am officially not allowed to enjoy the ride.

The guy sells fucking Lunchable pizzas for $12 because he is such a cheap fuck. It's not even fun food to eat with the insane stadium markup. He sold expired beer from the World Cup.

FedEx field is a fucking shitheap in the most dogshit location possible in the area. As much as I like to hate on Jerrah, the disparity between Jerryworld and FedEx says all you need to know about Snyder. The man was given a license to print money but cannot do a single thing right as a sports team owner.

This year should be the 7th out of the last 8 in which the Redskins finish last in the NFC East. I feel like most football fans accept that bad seasons can and do happen and are pumped as fuck the next summer when training camp starts. The problem with the Redskins is that there is no reasonable expectation that anything is ever going to change. What is there to be excited about when another year of Redskins football starts? Just the crushing reality that Snyder is the 2nd youngest NFL owner. This circus is going to go on for decades.

I wouldn't even consider myself a bandwagon fan for jumping ship to Baltimore. Just about 50 miles door to door to their park. A more or less local team that isn't a self-inflicted laughingstock of the sports world? I'm about 98% there.

Nah, if I decide to jump ship, I'm done.

I'll start actively rooting against the Redskins. Hell, I'm already close to it. I enjoy watching them get the shit kicked out of them just because it's validation for me not watching their games this year.

After the Houston game where RG3 played like shit, I was secretly hoping he'd get injured. And then he did, and it was just an "I knew it'd happen."

Come on over to the Dolphins bro. No one will ever claim you're a bandwagon fan.

Fuck that, he should become a Chiefs fan. Colors are more similar, still won't be a bandwagon case, and still have the Native American racial issue.

IT'S A CLEAR CUT CASE, FAGGOT.

I really hope the Falcons win tonight to calm some of the Green Bay hype. I think its going to be a blood bath however.

I hope the Falcons win, too. I don't really like them at all, and they have an uphill battle playing in Green Bay, but I'm with you. The GB hype train needs to slow down.

And for the first time he'll get to experience what it's like to root for a team with an elite QB.
