Wow. There were a couple times I thought the cheering seemed off for being in Dallas.
Bandwagon faggots.
Despite a nice win, the 49ers are definitely not hitting on all cylinders yet. Main issues are the O-line and D-line. They gave up way too many rushing yards and SF's running game was not particularly effective plus Dallas got pressure on Kaep which is a bad sign since they will be playing a lot better defenses down the line. Alex Boone not playing was surprising. I don't know if he was being punished for his holdout or if they really thought he wasn't ready but hopefully when he gets back in there it will help.
The rookies looked great. Hyde is going to be awesome and that rookie corner played solid while he was in there. Kaep played very well and made use of his new receivers. Tony Romo stunk up the place. Besides the picks there were several passes to absolutely no one where the receiver was obviously running a totally different route than Romo was expecting.
Penalties were pretty nuts. It didn't sound like all the games were calling so many tiny holds and hands to the face penalties but they sure as hell were in this game.

I guess Brosar crowning the Bears NFC Norse Champs was a bit premature... I am actually, as a packer fan, more concerned about the Vikings at the moment. Not that it matters, since the Pack will get bodied by whatever team ends up with the Wild Card in the West round one, right on schedule. But as bad and unprepared as the Packers looked, at least it was on the road against the defending champtions..... not the Browns on home turf. We need a_skeleton_03 to make a poll to decide which contract is more hilarious, the Cutler one or the Flacco one.
General observation on week one, it looks like the referees were fairly inconsistent across the league as far as applying the new penalty emphasis went. SF/Cowboy game had some real head scratchers, as did the Falcons game, but the Bears/Browns and Broncos/Colts games were pretty thin on a lot of the calls. Kung Fu Joe from the Stealers needs to get suspended for cleats to the face style, four games just like Suh did the last time he did the Bald Bull charge on a downed guy. The other thing I took away was that while defenses were looking mostly lost (Vikes and Hawks not withstanding), we didn't have the Yaketee Sax cluster fuck of offenses like what happened at the start of last season. Does anyone know for sure if Goodell or the Ravens had seen this tape? There doesn't seem to be a straight answer to that, but the league is probably going into damage control mode. I figured the police in NJ must have had this, but maybe it was being held back as evidence or something. From what I gather TMZ was only able to get their hands on it since that casino has shut down so no one will lose their job for selling it now. IDK, this is mostly off the Ravens boards so probably some better info available.

I don't know if I'd heard anyone else bring it up in the past because everyone considers him a giant villain, but Michael Vick probably wonders WTF is up with this shit when cold cocking a woman gets the guy two games and cheering fans whereas his life was completely turned upside down over animal abuse. Not that I'm defending Vick's past but just another instance of the backwards hypocrisy.

I will not defend Rice but he is a first time, one time (we know of) offender of striking a female. Vick knowingly and for a very, very long time intentionally maimed and killed animals.
