Isn't an indefinite suspension in violation of their brand new domestic violence policy? Not to mention they already chose his punishment, how the hell can it possibly be kosher for them to go back and say 'nah we changed our minds gtfo'
Yeah, I'm confused by this. Schefter kept mentioning that the CBA has some sort of double jeopardy clause in it. I have a hard time believing that them changing the punishment doesn't somehow violate the CBA.

Then again, the whole collusion thing with the Redskins and Cowboys happened and no one gives a shit anymore. So they probably figure they'll get away with it.

I'm still trying to get a full picture of this who thing. So the Ravens and/or NFL were Rice's employer. Does that mean they're allowed to have access to, what I can only assume, is police evidence? Like if I was caught pissing on the side of a building downtown and got arrested I don't know if my employer can request the tape. Many sources are saying the Ravens and the NFL did not see the tape (just as many saying they did see the tape) and were told the story only from Rice's words. If that is true and Rice gave them the whole "I shoved her, she fell and got knocked out on the railing" I can understand the sharp left turn after the video was released. I sometimes give the benefit of the doubt too much (I gave it to Rice until I saw the video) but it sounds like the NFL may not completely be in the wrong here.

IDK man, you decide:

Someone Is Lying About Whether The NFL Saw The Ray Rice Tape

Peter King Reported The NFL Saw The Ray Rice Video Before He Reported They Didnt | Kissing Suzy Kolber

Has Peter King Read His Own Reporting On The Ray Rice Fiasco?

Adam Schefter Is Fed Up With The NFL

Something's rotten here, don't you think? I say the league and the team hoped they could sweep this thing under the rug, especially with Rice only getting pre trial probation, and it came back to bite them in the ass. The casino in question is apparently closed down and so TMZ was probably able to buy this tape from someone who no longer had to worry about losing their job or anything.

Actually sources say the NFL DID see the tape. The NFL, itself, is claiming it didn't.

I hope Ray Rice sues so the NFL looks ridiculous. I love the product but I hate the people that run it.

I assume since he was terminated he no longer has the NFLPA protection and they can do whatever they want. Totaling guessing tho

It's all a cover-up for how bad the Chiefs are. That's just how good Andy is at coaching. :/

The league definitely thought they could sweep this all under the rug. Thankfully, the SJWs actually did something useful for a change and kept the pressure on scumfuck Goodell. However, he's handling it like a genius and suspending Rice "indefinitely", even though it's completely meaningless to do so. No team is going to sign him with the PR backlash they'd receive, especially after his dogshit season last year.

I didn't think any team would ever sign Michael Vick again either.

Heh, the SJW's have a big part in the outrage for sure, but it was essentially the paparazzi who succeeded in blowing this thing out of the water today while Goodell thought it was all over and done with. I bet he's fucking furious that this is overshadowing what would have otherwise probably been seen as a very lucrative opening weekend.

Wait, I am confused, I thought for Goddell to do anything they had to be convicted? Last I heard Rice was going through a pre-trial diversion program which from my understanding if he completes means he isn't convicted of anything, the arrest will still exist but no conviction. So he is over ruling the court system at this point.....

Goodell can do what he wants. He was already suspended two games for this shit without a conviction.

Welcome to the NFL where the suspension lengths are made up the convictions don't matter. I'm your host Roger Goodell.

He didn't need a conviction, Rice plead guilty to some lesser charges and got off light, no? Or am I not remembering that correctly.

Goodell's indefinite suspension was too little, too late. And Peter King posted something to the effect of, I stand by my reporting, which was not challenged by the NFL.
