After watching Sam for several years I'm gonna say he's less than mediocre. He sucks. He had a lot of empty stats last year from getting behind big in the first half before blowing out his knee. He's also been injured WAAAY too much in his career, to the point where I can't see why anyone would think this guy is going to last through a season.

At least Carson has Fitzgerald to bail him out, the other 2 QB's are mobile and make plays with their feet when needed. I'm not sure I'd call the guy with a Super Bowl ring mediocre, but for sure that dude in SF is.

God. The QB situation on other teams makes me chuckle. I would KILL to have the Vikings QB drama be asking if Sam Bradford is good enough or not.

You'd kill to have a QB taking up over 17 million in cap space when he's in the bottom 3rd of QB's in the league and has spent a decent portion of his career being injured? I'd rather have that cap space.

Joe Flacco, Trent Dilfer, Mark Rypien, Jim McMahon, Brad Johnson, Jeff Hostetler, and Doug Williams say otherwise. Plenty of mediocre or downright awful QBs have won Super Bowls.

Joe Namath. Holy shit was he a terrible qb that is so vastly overrated because of 1 game. 6 of his 12 years his comp % was in the 40s and he threw 220 INT to 170 TD.

Sam Bradford is the over priced Portlandian mocha-cappa-grande-spritz-latte-twist of QBs. Look, I'm not saying the shit sucks, they're just charging too much.

He's special because he is a Heisman winner and the last over-paid golden-boy QB dreamstar 1st rounder. But that was his peak. That was the crest. He's not Ryan Leaf, and he's not Andrew Luck, but he makes 72 times more than both of them combined.

I hate Kaep with a passion and think he's mediocre at best and the weakest link on the team, but going to 1 Superbowl and 1 NFC championship in his 2 years is pretty good

Yeah, if he is shit and no one wants him there will be a "teams don't want him 'cause he's a homo!" outcry.

Get drafted, prove your ability, then next offseason say "Yep, I'm a homo and no one died from it and the world didn't fall apart."

I think its smarter to just let it out now, train hard, have a good showing at the combine, and let it die down between now and this new later draft. By the time of camp everyone inside the NFL and the team he's going to will have had a chance to process and come to terms with it. The media is going to be a spectacle regardless but I think it would be ten times more hyped to come out in the middle of a season or after one season. This way he goes into the league with no secret or pretense about it and it doesn't look as much like an attention grab or excuse for anything. Just get it out of the way like ripping off a band aid and let the cards fall where they may.
