Claims the pack will go 15-1 this year, then after they lose says he knew they were overrated.
These are not contradictory statements, though I said 14-2 was the likely result. I originally expected to lose this game (just not look like the Texans while doing it) and either the Raiders or Panthers game. The entire rest of our schedule is our shithole division. Vikings will make a wild card, but this is a team that struggled to put away the bears at home and got blown out by the 49ers. We won't lose to that team.
What we saw last night is the result of 20 years of not attempting to get any good linebackers (I think Paup was our last pro bowl one?) and our shitty game planning assuming that Rodgers could just do his usual audible at the line routine against a good D in a hostile environment. Rivers exposed how bad our LBs are (why do you think we move Mathews around so much?) and Pey Pey took that and ran with it. Meanwhile, we struggled to execute basic offense because McFatty was probably busy choking down BK Halloween burgers when he should have been game planning silent snap offense the last two weeks. We were (as usual this time of year and always after a bye) completely unprepared and out coached this game. Meanwhile, Kubiak and Elway had there guys ready to play and armed with a solid game plan. End result is what we saw.
We have needed to tap into this cap space we always have to add a LB or two for quite a while. A shutdown corner would not hurt either, but we could have kept Woodson who is leading the league in picks and still going to the pro bowl regularly on the fucking Raiders squad. GB is basically a mediocre to poor coach with a decent (on the offensive side) drafting front office that gets propped up by having a HoF QB. I mean, between Rodgers and Favre, we have had basically two decades of uninterrupted elite level QB play, but complacency has only nabbed two championships in that time, and frankly we were extremely lucky to get the last one. You put this team in the hands of a coach like Bellicheat or one of the Harbros, with a front office that actually tries to fill gaps in the D? Maybe we don't go dynasty, but you sure don't see a flat wet shit like last night. Talent level is there in most places, but having a great QB and a cakewalk division has made our front office and coaches lazy as shit. Just look at what happened to Philbin when he had to go to Miami.
Again, don't mind that we lost. I expected it, in fact. We have already faced a couple good defenses this season, just not on the road where Rodgers can count on making play calls at the line and hardcount. What I do mind is the complete lack of game plan and motivation (followed by no half time adjustments) in these post bye or trap games. Say what you want about the Evil Empire in NE and the Roidhawks, but they are god damn ready to play every week. This is also why Denver dumped Fox, because he would do this same shit. Kubiak might not be the best coach out there, but motivation is not one of his shortcomings and it showed in every aspect of their game last night. Bravo to them. Meanwhile, we will likely be surprise knocked out at home by a 8-8 division winning Giants team (again) because we will be napping then, too. So really, it does not matter if we are 15-1 at this point. If McFatty cannot get his motivation issues unfucked (along with clock management and halftime adjustments), we won't be winning another SB under his tenure.
