Benching Kaeperbro for Gabbert is a joke right? It's not the benching but the fact it is Gabbert. What are you hoping to achieve? This isn't like benching Griffin for Cousins. Gabbert isn't going to use the rest of the season to blossom into a starter in this league. You're going down the path of drafting a QB in the first round in 2016 and cutting Kaeperbro. I've seen this shitfest play out in DC.
You're hoping to achieve not having to pay his guaranteed money. He can't get hurt if he's benched. It's the same reason the playcalling has been so conservative it'd make Dick Cheney blush.

Bingo.

It sounds like everyone is in agreement that this is essentially the end of Kaepernicks time in SF, and the 49ers are simply protecting him from injury so they aren't on the hook to pay him. Who knows, maybe they will even get someone to trade for him in the offseason!
Unfortunately, KC seems to be the dumping ground for unwanted SF quarterbacks.

Isn't his contract also one of the most incentive laden of the qb's? So maybe they don't want him hitting benchmarks for pay also.

Randle cut by the Cowboys, so I guess the Murray replacement plan is officially more of a shitshow than the Murray FA signing.

I'm not sure about 2015, but I know he has escalators in 2016 if he takes 80% of the snaps, playoffs, etc. So, I wouldn't be surprised if that's part of the reasoning for the benching as well.

That's a pretty stupid thing to say.

They officially made McFadden the starter already. You know, the guy who's rushed for more yards than Murray while making $37million less?

He turned vegetarian...

Honestly the last couple of games McFadden has looked pretty good. At least much better than he showed in all the previous games.

Watching the titans press conference in a restaurant, and I thought the dude in front was the new coach. That beard didn't look as neatly trimmed on TV. Couldn't see the guy's mouth even when he talked, the goatee just got a little longer and wiggled. I figured that might have been strategic facial hair to keep belicheck from reading his lips.

That's a decent argument, but it's not the first time the government has decided something was too offensive to grant copyright protection. There was an asian band called the slants who couldn't get the rights to the name so they could go big time. IIRC, washington redskins was one of the examples they cited for why their name should have been approved.

I am firmly on the side of the slants and redskins here. If the redskins want a less offensive name, they need to become the maryland redskins.

I wouldn't even admit the name is offensive...You open the door to every PC nutjob out there.

The Browns and Broncos failed to complete a deadline deal Tuesday that would have sent 8-time Pro Bowl player LT Joe Thomas and a 4th-round pick in 2016 to Denver for a 1st-round and 2nd-round pick in 2016, sources told ESPN's Dianna Russini and Adam Schefter.

In other news it's Johnny Football time!

Brownies need to drive up his price before they ship him off to Dallas on Draft Day 2016.

This sounds like they may try to keep Peyton around... you don't fucking trade away a 1st and 2nd for a veteran O-Lineman unless you think you have a QB worth it.

I'm amazed the Bears didn't trade Cutler, actually amazed they didn't trade him plus Forte and Jeffrey. This past weekends loss to the Vikes was just terrible. Anyway, that's my monthly non-interested Bears fan comment.
