5 turnovers tonight for the Chiefs. Nobody wins in the nfl turning it over they much. Shouldn't have been as close as it was

Would've been over had the same thing happened in OT. Just a fluke play, really.
This. Never understand the "the chances of something actually happening for your offense are so slim". As opposed to a fumble on a "safe" running play? Shit happens sometimes. Phil Simms is fucking terrible.

Sure am glad I stayed up to watch the end of that game. If you had asked me what the final score was going to be after the 1st quarter, I'd have said 38-3, Chiefs.

On your own 20, with Denver's defense in a prevent, and you clearly playing for OT by running it off tackle? There are just way more bad things that can happen than good ones.

That said, I would never have run the ball in that situation, a FG wins it and not enough time for Denver to get the ball back.

Honestly though, what bad can happen outside of a fumble? You have a good back, with a timeout in your pocket, who could break off a 15-20 yard run. Get a personal foul for a late hit or a horse collar/face mask...there are multiple possibilities that could happen. If you take a penalty, then you just kneel on it. I just don't get the whole "bad things are more likely to happen" when there's < 40 seconds left in your end of the field in a tie game versus first offensive play of OT.

If they'd had more than one timeout, yeah I wouldn't run it. With just the one, you're looking for the safest way possible to make something happen to bring a realistic shot at a field goal into play. Just the absolute fluke worst possible thing ended up happening. Can happen to anyone.
