Fair point but that doesn't explain his history of playoff woes over his whole career. Wasn't the rap on him in college also that he couldn't win the big games? I don't watch college. Still, yeah any physical issues aren't going to be better come winter.

I thought that the narrative on Peypey not being good when it is chilly didn't really hold up anyways. I mean yes he does have a drop-off in the cold, but it is pretty consistent with the drop off any QB has when going on the road, which is the only time he'd be playing in cold weather games since he played most of his career in a dome.

*edit: Of course, if he wants to get to the Super Bowl he needs to go through Brady who only does this when it is cold:

Tom Brady has 46 games under his belt in cold weather with a 40-6* record. He's 29-5* at home and11-1* on the road.He has a 10-2* postseason record inside those 46 games. He has thrown 85* touchdowns, 30 interceptions and he has been sacked 81 times. One of the most impressive facts is his 584 first downs, or an average of 13* per game.
Those stats came from a 2013 article btw.*

Always felt like Manning for the most part had inferior teams around him (overall) that he would raise up. Once they got to the big game if he wasn't perfect they'd be over-matched

The Broncos weren't exactly AWFUL without manning. They made it to the divisional round of the playoffs with fucking Tim Tebow.

Pretty entertaining (for me), Seahawks reddit has had to have dolphin Donald on their side bar all week.

How does the Elo rating take into account different eras and rule changes? I find it hard to believe the 04 or 07 Patriots would stand a chance in hell against '89 49ers, '93 Cowboys, '85 Bears on a talent level. By the same token, the '42 Bears would get smoked by even the worst teams playing today.

I think all it can really do is compare how dominant a team is vs the other teams it is playing that year. It doesn't try to compare across eras or anything, but just compare to the league average at the time they were playing

It's kind of amazing to me how badly Dallas is getting overlooked in picks this week. Pretty much every "primary" writer for a major NFL site is picking the Eagles, and aggregate panel picks turn out to be extremely lopsided going Dallas 8, Philly 58. I understand wanting to ding them for the injuries that occurred and how they played last week but Philly was basically dog shit for an entire half against at best a mediocre Atlanta defense.

I think it's a combination of hype and the fact the Giants gave the game to Dallas.

You've got to be a real homer to think you should be favored in a divisional road game without your best recei...oh wait, Cowboys.

Atlanta's D is better than mediocre at it's worst.

Manning's Oline is making him look much worse than he actually is. People have been making fun of his arm strength since he came to Denver while he's gone 13-3, 13-3, and 12-4
This. I'm not all that worried. His arm hasn't been strong since he got to Denver. The D will help out more so than the last couple of years until hopefully the O line can come together.
