Wilson is a good QB but it's ridiculous for anyone to think what he does is elite. He's a more talented Dilfer,as mentioned, in that offense. Could he do and be more? I'm sure he could but at this point he's just an efficient and very good game manager. I have no problem with what he makes because they have done well so far with it. And there is only about a half dozen elite QBs in the NFL so it's not exactly an easy group to be in.

Edit- Lynch was amazing before Wilson got into college. Let's not under appreciate Beast Mode now.
^ all of this. To add Wilson might be better if we had good receivers to throw to. He obviously isn't in Brady/Rodgers league so he can't just put up video game numbers with a warm body at WR like they can. Before Jimmy Graham the best receiver Seattle had was Steve Largent back in the late 70s/80s. I don't count the ~year that Rice played for us, it was the end of his career and I don't really think of him as a Seahawk.

Wilson will never be a 3 step and release no matter who his receivers are. He's always going to be a running/scrambling QB, moving around for 5 or 6 seconds till someone is open. Lets face it after a few seconds most passing plays are broken and become school yard someone get open and I'll throw you the ball which is what Wilson pretty much is. If he had half the mobility he has right now he wouldn't even be in the NFL.

Brees and Manning are both skating by on past accomplishments in these ratings right now. If they were first year starters playing like they are playing we would be talking about benching them not ranking them top 10.

Those rankings are shit. I like that raiders QB personally. He could be a damn fine player if he had a good coaching system and team to .... ahh fuck.

Bullshit. Do you even watch the games? Brees is averaging 305 yards a game, 63% completion with 2 tds and 2 ints. Nobody would ever talk about benching a rookie for putting those numbers up

Ok benching is a step too far, but no one would be ranking a rookie doing that in the top half of QBs either.

Isn't this a good bit how Big Ben has made his living in the NFL? Turning broken plays into monster gains? I'm not knocking Ben as a QB either, guy can play, but I don't think it should be a negative to make plays out of the pocket on extended/broken plays. Romo much as I hate to admit it does some of his best work then too. Wilson might be able to do more traditional 3 and 5 step drop plays if he had better receivers.

Obviously having a SB on the resume helps, but if a rookie was putting up 300+ 60%+ without throwing more picks than TD's I think most teams would be pretty damn happy with that. As to where they would rank without the resume to pad a ranking...well...QB play hasn't been that stellar across the league so far this year. While a few years back you might be able to comfortably claim more than 3 elite QB's, it's hard to really give anyone other than Rodgers/Brady/Ben that nod right now.

The reason Wilson has no one to throw to has more to do with the front office and drama in that place. They dumped Golden Taint because he banged Russel's wife and Percy Harvin is a known head case that Seattle never should have picked up in the first place. Even so, I don't think their offense lends itself to the wideouts being incredibly impactful. Every play is read option with some dump offs because right now Wilson still has his mobility so the team essentially has two backs in every play. If they keep playing teams with the D talent to keep them from bouncing plays out (read, none in the next five weeks), then Wilson will have to start acting like more of a standard passer. GB and the Rams did a decent job of it, but I don't think any of the next few teams have the right people to pull off the same thing.
