No, Bob Costas, like so many others in the sports media,loves baseball.Its not that he hates sports, but like so many of these baseball guy journalists, he resents the NFL's dominance over "America's pastime".
Anyway, none of that seems relevant to this current monologue. Its just more run of the mill ratings humping Manning/Brady fluffery. Everything on his script was fairly accurate, but Costas just has that way of making you hate his sanctimonious ass, he could be reading a phone book, wouldn't matter.

They allowed the clock to run, so they could go 11 in the box against the punt, if they jump offside New England has no time to do anything, if they block the punt possible touchdown. New England saw the 11 in the box and called time out and checked down to a pass out of bounds.
