Gronk has more OPI against him than 30 teams combined

pretty ridiculous. Reminds me of when Shaq was in his prime. He'd breathe on a guy and get T'd up.

Not allowed to be bigger, stronger AND have hands. Not allowed.
What is Offensive Pass Interference?
A penalty called when an offensive player impedes a defender's ability to play pass defense. This can mean setting an illegal pick, where an offensive player intentionally gets in the way of another player's defender.Pass interference is also called when an offensive receiver shoves the defender away from him prior to making a play on the ball. The penalty is 10 yards from the previous line of scrimmage, and the down is replayed. Offensive pass interference cannot occur behind the line of scrimmage or after the ball has been touched following the throw.

Gronk is without a doubt the best TE in the game right now and I love watching him play. But he pushes off, and has been known to do it in the past. He's just getting caught more often, now, imo.

It's like how Richard Sherman was the best shut-down cornerback. But really it was 80% him holding the receiver. Now that's how most 'good' CB's play. They hold them at some point, hope they don't get called. Vontae Davis on the Colts does the same shit. I wish he didn't or didn't have to, but that's what they do. Sometimes it's a first down instead of a touchdown and I guess that's the smarter move.

There's holding on pretty much every single play. It's just a matter of what they want to call.

They used to let defensive holding go a lot unless it was really blatant. Then last year they started cracking down and called everything. Now they're in some weird in between where it seems completely random and different for each ref.

That not OPI. That can barely be called a push off. The league has targeted the Patriots and its so obvious after the Denver game. The Pats had so much yardage called back over BS, in addition to yardage granted like that 1st and 4 vs 3rd and 18 when that sack was negated. Cant beat the refs.

I think you're right. The conspiracy doesn't stop there. EVERY SINGLE media outlet that lists the team stats has the Broncos being called for more penalties and the total penalty yards being within a yard of each other.

Or maybe Pats fans are crybaby bitches who deserved to get their shit kicked in by a backup qb?

I dont buy that. Maybe for those specific players but athleticism and closing speed are the top factors at cb. The game has evolved since the days of Deion Sanders and Eric Allen etc but some of the best cb's in the league shut guys down and play off the line, without any blatant holding to "even" the advantage.

Most offensive pass interference penalties since 2009, under the league average in total penalties accepted, and the beneficiary of more calls for rather than against. Sounds like the making of a conspiracy to me. New England is 25th in the league for total flags thrown. Only 7 teams are penalized less than the Patriots.

The Patriots lost because of the muffed punt, and a 5'8 225 running back that had way better traction on the field than everyone else for some reason.

To look at everything, the refs have been ATROCIOUS this year.

So yea.

I don't know what cave you just crawled out from under but the definition was listed above just in case you couldn't figure it out. Obvious OPI. They may not call it all the time and everyone may do it but that doesn't negate what is happening there. Whew, ignorant homers are the worst. Unless that's how Gronk runs to keep his balance...yeahhhhh. That one arm up balance trick. I've heard that's how the Pats have run their routes for years.

I didn't watch the game, how many penalties did the Pats have called on them in the first 3 quarters? Then how many in the 4th? You'd also think a Gary Kubiak coached team would have more penalties than a Bill Belichick coached team, I don't think I need Ham in here to break it down for you. By your logic every team should have the same amount of penalties and penalty yards, which makes you, wrong again! =)

My favorite part about the Gronk Pass Interference stuff is he has said in interviews that he doesn't care that the league is picking on him, he is going to continue to play the same exact way. Like maybe if the league is telling you something and you don't listen then it's your fault?

This is exactly like when James Harrison used to hit people too hard. All the hits were legal but the league deemed that he was to stronk for the league. Once he tamed his hits (after a suspension and the most fines in NFL history) he stopped getting flagged. Gronk needs to grown the fuck up and learn to play like the rest of the league and stop pushing off.

Hey, Its the NFL and the best teams are the ones who can stay the healthiest, especially by the playoffs. Panthers are in great shape and right now the best team because they are pretty much intact.

The loss of Edelman and Amendola changes the entire Pats offense. You cant play zone with those two, yet Gronk forces you to play some zone and they have so much motion and unusual formations that you cant have special rules for each player, its gets too complicated and teams screw up, something Brady does not miss. ANd even then, if you man up and play Edelman and Amendola tight, they have mastered the 1 yard rub routes so Brady can kill you all day underneath.

If those three are healthy and on the field, Patriots are still the best team in football.. IF not, then they aren't. But even Brady can't win every game with half his playbook tied behind his back.

Defensively, not having 2 Pro Bowl linebackers in vs a run heavy team was really bad. You arent running that power sweep that Denver killed the Pats with if Hightower and Collins are in the game. But thats what every team does. Probe for weaknesses, and exploit them. Denver ran the ball down our throats and they deserved to win.

The other thing about Belichick, is for the most part they never activate players until they are 100%. I think a lot of what he is doing is trying to get as healthy as possible for the playoffs, even if they lose a couple more games, it would be a valid sacrifice to get a full, rested team on the field... then home field doesn't even matter that much. It would be nice, but its secondary. Luckily there are no real must win games and a few really easy ones. Eagles, Texans, Titans, Jets, Lolphins. Jets being the toughest... but if they beat the Texans, then it doesnt matter and the Jets are just playing for pride at that point. Houston is also interesting, and they are playing well, but they would have to play lights out right at the time everyone is coming for the Pats.

Dolphins lose with Jimmy G playing QB.
