.500 isn't a terrible record as a head coach. Most successful NFL coaches are slightly above .500. Even Belichick is only .66.

That .500 level is a huuuge drop off in quality. I'm not saying Rex is a bad coach, he's been in two largely dysfunctional or rebuilding organizations so far, but the gap between .500 and the good HC's is significant.

belichick in his stint with the patriots 256 games (regular season) 187 -69 or .73%

i'll take that,, even his overall % he is 13th lifetime- and of those higher than him,,only shula and halas have more games coached than him most of the others are in the 4-15 years coached lifetime .

Really an egg and the chicken argument. How many wins has Belichick had without Brady at the helm? Belichick is 52-62 when Brady has not played the majority of the snaps. Sure, he's extremely smart, talented, and experienced. But having a talent like Brady sure helps. Just ask Tony Dungy how nice it is to have a good QB when it's time to get a ring.

There's a difference between eliminating an outlier because it doesn't accurately represent the facts vs disregarding 20% of the data because it doesn't fit your narrative.

Wow I never realized Madden was higher than Lombardi....thats crazy. But hey, the guy did figure out you win if you score more points than the other team AND invented the turducken for the Cowboys Olines of the 90s to eat on Thanksgiving while he masturbated and watched.

And looking back I see it clearly now......we have angered the almighty football gods. We made fun of his corny jokes and teleprompter circles.......and we were punished with Phil Simms and the sports missionary position commentating team of Buck/Aikman for the unforeseeable future.

I do think some RB's are still worth a 1st or a 2nd round pick, but as you said, guys like Peterson and Gurley are the exception and not the rule.

I disagree. I would be very disappointed in any team I like taking a back in the first two rounds. There are a few guys that truly are better than everyone else (Peterson), but you are just as likely to get a Richardson going early. Rushing is all about the play calling and the offensive line. Picking up a quality lineman will do more for your run game than any running back

Tough to call an all time great when he was on such bad teams. He put up insane numbers, but when you're always losing you have to pass a lot.
