So I ask you...where does Brees play next year?

If you listened to today's Bill Barnwell Podcast (and if not, why not), he will walk into whatever city he likes, the most likely outcomes being the Jets (if they can scrape up the money), Bears (if Catler finally goes), and then Texans/Broncos* (if their QBs fail out the gate).

*Now there's the darkest timeline: The Lombardi Trophy alternates between the Patriots and the Broncos with their farewell tour QB of the year - Brees / Rivers / Brady (irony) / Big Ben / Rodgers.

Not watching the game, but man do the Redskins have a shit load of weapons on offense. Reading that Vernon Davis is looking sharper than he has recently. So you've got Reed who is turning into a superstar, Davis, Desean Jackson, Pierre Garcon, and Crowder probably in the slot.

If the Redskins get a running game going this year, that offense is going to be scary.

Coach McFatty is doing his usual sloppy as shit work with the offense. If this is how our first team plays against the niners, then we are going to do worse than last year. Maybe McCarthy will get canned before he squanders the rest of Rodgers career.

Grain of salt, Cousins and the offense looked rusty as shit against Buffalo's starting D. Torched the backups for 3 TD passes in the 2nd quarter, but far from a finished product overall.

Still, plenty of reasons for optimism. Reed doing his usual job pretty much always getting open, and Garcon's TD catch was a thing of beauty. Starting D looked all right, Preston Smith in particular. Just really hope Kerrigan's groin thing is minor. He's starting to pick up these small nagging injuries the last year or so, don't want him to be dealing with this or that all year again.

I've been drinking, so I am going to allow myself to be vulnerable to honest here.

I actually thought that Chip Kelly's offense could potentially jump start Kaepernick's career. With the potential of the O-Line coming together, with Carlos Hyde, with Kelly's offense, and with Kaepernick's athleticism, I allowed myself to get a glimmer of hope that Kaep would make a comeback. It ain't going to happen. Dude is done.

I thought he might work well with Kelly as well. Then the stories came out about him wanting a trade and I figured they must not get along. Sucks for you guys but maybe he won't be there long.

As good as Shazier is, I don't see him being able to stop Reed completely all by himself. Will be curious to see how often he's matched up on him, though.
Nah I dont mean stop, simply a matchup thing where Shazier wont need help. Im sure Reed will catch some balls, but hes not what Im worried about most.

I still think something is up with Kaepernick. He and the 49ers hate each other but have to pretend that they don't because $$$. If they can't trade him and they're not going to play him they should just cut him. I guess if he gets injured this year they have to pay him his bonus for the next two seasons and he seems to have ways of becoming injured when it's convenient to him.

Kaepernick refuses “to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses Black people”

“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses Black people and people of color,” Kaepernick told Steve Wyche of NFL Media. “To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.”

He's a fucking head case. Would like to see him play this year if he could get his head straight.

I've had dumps more interesting than what Kaep is doing these days. The dude had one good season, almost a dream season but came short and that in itself would have been fine. But instead of really becoming a leader after that season, he let the piss get into his head and he turned out to be what nine out of ten QB's who have had that kind of season turn into, self-absorbed fuckweed
