Listening to them talk about Tavon Austin like the guy would be anything more than a #2 on any other team short of the Eagles and then paying him like he's just below them would be more than enough cause for termination, holy fuck.

You are clueless about Austin then.

Only took him 3 years to put up the average year of a #1 WR, you are right though I was clueless I'd cut my #2 if he sucked as much as Tavon Austin.

To be fair, look at the team he's on, the coach he has, and the QB's throwing him the ball.

He is certainly an explosive multi positional threat on offense. The fakes and gives to him give Gurley all sorts of room to operate.

Just receiving wise, yeah, he's more like #3 material. I'm glad we have him, but our other receiving options have been total dogshit and I hope someone steps up this year.

There are also games at a time when I wonder what the fuck we're doing on offense and we're doing shit all to try and get the ball to Austin. Jeff Fisher's offensive philosophies do not work well (overall) in the NFL, I would think that's pretty clear.

Im guessing you only paid attention to the receiving stats?

He had 10 total tds for the Rams last year.

NFL Stats: by Player Category

Look at this list of guys who had more than 10 and the list of elite players who had less than 10. Not to mention he was on the worst passing offense in the league last year and had total dogshit QBs his entire career.
Jeff fisher is too retarded to use him properly too. It's a testament to his skill that he managed to get 10 TDs on that team with that QB and coach.

If only he rushed for as many td as he's fumbled, Diondre Hopkins has had complete dog shit at qb and it hasn't stopped him. He return one for a td because no year is showing 10. At best a #2 on most teams, sorry but he isn't worth 10m a year.

Still pretty bummed about Stedman Bailey too. I thought that guy had the tools to be a solid #2 type guy. I wonder what this team would look like with a Bruce Arians at the helm.

Plus to the average retarded fan who watches a game and doesnt understand whats going on, it would seem to minimize his contribution. The jet sweep the Rams run probably 8-10 times a game frees up Gurley because it technically puts less guys in the box because they have to account for the fact that Austin is one of the fastest guys in the league and if the DE + SLB/WLB (depending on which side he runs to) dont have discipline Austin can take it to the house or for a huge gain. If they are disciplined, it allows TG3 to have maybe one guy to beat in the hole for a huge gain.

Example: watch this opening play and watch the flow of the linebackers which bite on the Austin sweep. This shit happens multiple times a game and is one of the only smart things the Rams do on offense. It's a pick your poison thing, and they are actually really good at exploiting tendencies with it. Fisher at least can figure out ways to run the ball, unfortunately nothing else.

Austin has so many fumbles, other teams should pay him residuals

What you are saying is correct. But Austin is a slot receiver at best. He is not a #1. If he had a 6'2" or 6'4" guy on the outside to help him it would be better for the Rans.

10/12 are from punt returns for his career, and he only lost 3. Sometimes he tries too hard and makes punt returns in traffic

Absolutely. He is a swiss army knife, nobody else really does what he does and is as good in all areas. But he's not your prototypical number 1, no....and Britt Quick etc all are garbage.

Sad thing is the Rams could have drafted DeAndre Hopkins at 8 where they took Austin and likely still gotten him later in the 1st with their other pick that year.

Gadget player, they talked about him like he was just behind Hopkins, Brown, Bryant when in fact he's not even in the better #2 based on production as a WR. Seriously if other WRs were paid like him no hands body catching Terrance Williams would get 10m a year.

That's just it, he isn't just a WR and last year they finally figured out a bit how to utilize him. Yeah, just as a pass catching WR he's nowhere close to those guys, but that is severely underestimating his value as an overall part of the offense.

Overall those other teams also have a LOT more talent on offense than the Rams do and aren't run by retard has beens.
