Pro bowl is for getting more money when it's time for a new contract. Before it's over 100+ players will be selected to the pro bowl between those who don't want to risk injury, playing in the SB, or just blows it the fuck off.

The game itself ranks some where between watching golf on tv or a 0-0 tie in soccer.

I want to watch the dodgeball game they're doing at the Pro Bowl this year.

They are having a QB skills thing this year as well I believe, everything but the game should be watchable.

Didn't Cleveland so this last year? Between the sidelines and GM's or something.

It was last year or two years ago. GM was texting the coach or one of the assistants. They suspended the GM which seems pointless.

They're the Browns, though. The only way to really punish them would be to give them extra draft picks so they can load up on even more busts

You don't "move on" in sports, dude!

Hell I'm still, deep down, full of seething hatred for Robert Irsay. That was 1984.
This.

Great Book of Grudges

I have a mental Book of Grudges just for sports related things. Neil O'Donnels and his awful SB interceptions, Vontaze Burficts many transgressions, Bernie Kosar, Ray Lewis' stupid pregame dance, Cowboys ultra douche Cliff Harris (passed down from my dad), Lendale White stomping on the towel....and many more

From college both piece of shit Vick brothers (fuck Marcus the most), or that piece of shit Marvin Graves starting a brawl....piece of shit Shady celebrating on our logo when Pitt knocked us out of the NC game.....honestly these things are what makes football great.

There are many sports grudges I hold. SF Giants beating the Reds after being down 2-0 with three games to go in Cincy (and because their fans suck). Houston Texans for always managing to beat the Bengals every year no matter the talent gaps on either team. Everything there is about the STL Cards and Steelers. UConn and Louisville. The Cavs for making the Warriors even more disappointing than the 16-0 Pats. I like winning more than anything else but when those teams lose, I feel better.

Never liked TO, glad Teague blew him up for disrespecting the star.

Haynesworth using his cleats to cut a gash in Gurodes forehead after the play was over when he was on the ground and had lost his helmet. I honestly don't know why they allowed that fucking neanderthal on the field ever again after that but hey he ruined Washingtons cap for years so at least he was good for something.

Also fuck Frank Reich and the Bills for ruining what was going to be a all Texas Super Bowl.

Are you still upset about that? Jesus fucking christ. Move on dude!

Lost out on $18M of cap space for 2 years back to back? Was a pretty significant penalty, for a bullshit "offense". Giants can suck a dick and take this little slap on the wrist.

Jesus, so I was just looking at cap numbers. Its so easy to see where the good teams win before they even step on the field, just by looking at cap numbers vs production. That game of who to pay and let walk is one only a few teams seem to master year to year.

Like.....how in the fuck is Dallas paying their entire starting OL only 18.5 million in combined cap hits (12.1% of the 2016 cap)? That's impressive. Pittsburgh pays Ben a shit ton but its money well spent, and all of their high cap hits are significant parts of their teams success which makes me happy. Denver? Same deal, all of their big cap hits are significant playmakers.

Meanwhile in Retardville........the Rams hit Trumaine Johnson with the franchise tag and paid out 13,952,000 for his services this year.......and what has that gotten them? 50 combined tackles (40 solo) and 1 interception.

Whats even crazier about Dallas is that they can cut Romo and offset his dead money cap hits by splitting it over 2017 and 2018 (10.5 a year in dead money) and STILL will end up saving 5 million next year by doing so. Once he is off the books, they have a fuckton of money to pay/resign guys or fill in voids in free agency because Romos cap hit is a whopping 20.8million.

Albert Haynesworth was the biggest asshole I saw play football in my lifetime. A truly disgusting shit nugget.

Dallas spent draft picks on their oline, that's why. If you think those dudes aren't getting mega contracts after their current deals expire you're out of your mind. Tyron Smith got PAID. I would expect the same for Martin and Frederick when their time comes. Collins is a fucking steal, and Free is the weak link in that line.

Fredbeard already has an extension in place through 2023. Martin is next. They'll pick up his 5th year rookie option then sign him at least as long as Fred and Tyron. Leary will leave for another team in the offseason but they still have Collins next year plus a year of RFA. Free will probably be fighting for his job versus Green in the offseason. He just went on IR but he filled in for Tyron early in the season and did very well. They're doing really good on the O-line overall and having 3 of the 5 be in talks for All-Pro every year for the next 4-5 years is a luxury I nearly can't comprehend. And as good as Zeke is right now, you have to imagine he's going to get better. Exciting times.

Oh, and the deal Tyron signed? He got dinged the sports media for doing something so team friendly, with the guarantees only going up to the end of the 2017 season.

He ruined the Texans best season by stomping on Schaub's foot during a QB sneak. He then bragged about it after the game.

You're a bit off Genjiro, they save 5 million in cap space by trading or cutting (won't happen) without the June 1st designation. 19.6M is the amount that gets put on the books If they trade or cut him, if they June 1st him that's split between 17 and 18.

Tldr 5.1M savings without splitting it over 2 years, 14M if they June 1st him and split it over 2 years.

Skins will have a shitload of cap money going into this offseason (something like $60M I think), but Cousins will eat a third or more of that most likely, Chris Baker is going to get paid pretty well on his new deal, and we'll have to decide what to do about Garcon and Desean Jackson.

I would be shocked if his cap hit is more than 1/4th of that 60M in 2017 with the way contracts are written today. I'd say you should expect a 6 year deal that in reality is a 4 year deal with the last two years having no guaranteed money high base salary and is only there to help spread out the 20M+ he will see in signing bonus and give them the chance to rework the deal and extend him after 4 if he is living up to the contract.
