He gets sacked a lot because he's a shit QB, holds the ball too long, can't see open receivers or receivers who will be open when the ball reaches them, and can't anticipate pressure. This is a guy who, more often than not, has less than 200 yards passing, and has put up 7 games with a 60% completion rate or less this year. His only saving grace is his ability to run and that he's so conservative in the passing game that he doesn't turn the ball over much. Neither of which will win games when the other side of the ball is a damned sieve.

This is old (week 11), but PFF had this to say about the Bills O-line:

4. Buffalo Bills (82.2)
The Bills definitely have an issue on the line, and while RT Jordan Mills threatened to maintain passable play earlier in the season, that has fallen off a cliff lately, as he has recorded two of his worst games in the past three weeks, surrendering 17 total pressures and four sacks against the Dolphins and Seahawks—two good pass-rushing teams. Elsewhere, though, the line has been solid, and LT Cordy Glenn has yet to surrender a sack or hit on the QB, despite Tyrod Taylor having the league’s highest average time to throw (by some distance, in fact, at 3.05 seconds).

I'm sure they've regressed (Football Outsiders has them at 14th) but they're still the top rushing team in the league and that's as much on the Offensive Line as on the talent behind them.

the problem with some of the teams lately, no patience....conversely, some have too much patience (rams with fisher) 3 years imo is about what it takes for a head coach to put his "fingerprints/brand/style" on a team, some can do it a bit faster (parcells) but it takes about 3 years.

imo you build inside out - unless there is a sure bet QB in the draft (and even then over half of them are busts)
offensive line, QB defensive line, linebacker safety/cb, receiver, rb last*

i put running back last is due to the fact that you can get a good back for cheap money, sure there are occasionally star backs taken in the draft (see dallas this year) but most backs in the league are ~3-4th rounders...

offensive line HAS to be #1 priority for an offense-- shitty o-line = no protection for QB, no holes for RB etc...(see browns, see seattle(while they are winning, their o-line stinks this year) see sanfran, patriots last year towards the end of the season etc) once you have the oline in good shape, then the rest of it comes together offensively much easier.

average QB with shitty o-line plays shitty, average QB with good o-line can play like an elite qb due to the time he has in the pocket...same for running backs, without a good o-line said back is not doing much, with a good line, he can make big plays more often, it is not the back that causes the break for a big play, it is the blocking up front that ALLOWS the big play.

Playoff experience is such a BS metric made up by talking heads and can be "proven" by pointing to anyone that doesn't win a Superbowl their first time in the post season.

Outside of multiple OTs, the rules are exactly the same. You're still just playing football and whoever scores the most points wins.

Even the example of Kurt Warner is dumb since he won the Super Bowl his first postseason, but didn't after that when he had all that "experience"

Once again I'm going to bitch about LA having a team again. The local broadcast is a completely meaningless game between the Rams and Cardinals, whereas most of the country gets to watch the Giants and Redskins.

This seems odd. Either Garappolo sucks, or the Patriots are in "don't give a shit" mode. Or they see someone in the draft they really like? Brady will eventually fall off.

Jimmy Garoppolo Trade Rumors: Latest News and Speculation on Patriots QB

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Patriots are starting any trade discussions for Garoppolo by asking for first- and fourth-round draft picks. That return is what the Minnesota Vikings gave up to acquire Sam Bradford from the Philadelphia Eagles.

Thats so misleading though. Great he had 3 secs to throw, but almost entirely on play action and roll outs. Give the line credit for being able to establish a running game, but once they are forced into passing downs consistently, the offense falls apart. The same thing happens to the Cowboys. If its 3rd and 5+, Dak or Tyrod arent good bets on being able to pass for a first down. The linebackers can play looser and take away the short stuff and the safeties don't have to cheat up and can play the pass more soundly. Tyrod or Dak isnt going to pick anyone apart. The key to beating either team is just getting in situations where you got your nickle personal on the field.

Garoppolo is good, really good. Its just his time to start and I think everyone knows it. Brady has at least 3 years left. You cant hold him on the bench for that long, the time to trade him is now, otherwise he will go into FA after his rookie contract expires next year.

I'm hoping the Patriots move up enough to get Christian McCaffery. He would be a great fit.

Like Curtis Martin, Aquib Talib, Vince Wilfork, Richard Seymour, Lawyer Milloy, Logan Mankins, Asante Samuel, or Adam Vinitari?

Uh,

- Curtis was before Bill
- Aquib was a rental from his issues in Tampa
- Vince is at the end of his career in Houston was a free agent
- if you think Seymour was worth a 1st to the Raiders then I don't know what to tell you
- Malloy wasn't traded but continued to be a good player
- Mankins didn't do dick for the Bucs
- Samuel worked out
- Great player

But hey, 2 out of 8 isn't bad. Also you forgot every QB that has played under Bill and went on to suck dick somewhere else.

Difference between Tom Brady and Dak Prescott on completing 3rd and medium...2.2% higher for Brady.

You think Brady is going to be playing at age 43? And possibly longer?

If he stays healthy, Brady is going to be tormenting people for a long, long time. He is a physical freak with a devotion to wellness that is borderline fanatical.

If someone blows out his knee or his throwing shoulder or some shit, then he might be done. But if he stays upright I can see him playing at a high level well into his 40s.

Obligatory.

Not freak in the sense of monstrously large, but freak in the sense of health. He will keep playing until his 40s barring a serious Peyton Manning-type injury that robs him of it, I firmly believe it.
