I mean that's clearly a fucking asstarded rule. In no way should pulling someones facemask on a play result in a 20 yard penalty AGAINST THE OTHER TEAM that doesn't even get the fucking benefit of half the distance.

I feel like it's been in the rule book forever, never came up 99% of the time, and has now been exposed as a problem. Kind of like that play where every player on the Ravens blatantly held to run out the clock because a game could end on an offensive penalty but not a defensive penalty. I think it got fixed in the next offseason.
