I don't like that trade at all. Unless he works out to be amazing, what a stupid fucking trade.

He is a completely unproven QB and we have holes EVERYWHERE. What the fuck.

Fuck, the more I think about it the more annoyed I get. How did all those other great Brady backup QB's end up? Mallet, Hoyer, Cassel...

God damn the 49ers are stupid. I hope they make me eat my words.

You guys are, what, 0-8, and everyone was making the comments about how abandoned the stands were? At some point you have to pivot from "We're the Factory of Sadness West" to "Yeah, we're terrible, but here's our plan to get better - starting with one of the few best QBs not locked up for years, and the only one not starting for another team right now."

But what does this mean for Cousins? Does he start flirting with the Jags and such?

What? He's saying there's no reason to think he's any better than what they already have and the 9ers just gave up a 2nd round pick for him.

He's right, too.

You realize the Garoppolo is in the last year of his contract? So the 49ers either have to pay him a ton now to lock him up, while having absolutely no idea how good he really is. Or they have to take a chance to sign him in the off season, or franchise tag him?

Every true 49ers fan knows the plan has been to rebuild, mostly through the draft. There was a chance to either get Cousins as a free agent, or draft a QB that is just as proven as Garoppolo (AKA not at all).

It is a stupid knee jerk reaction because they have had some pretty bad QB play this year. But that bad QB play is backed up by terrible OLine play, and mediocre receivers.

Fuck.

Edit: Oh and don't forget, if this is the 49ers 2nd round pick (they have the Saints 2nd also) it is essentially like a 1st round pick for the Patriots. Since the Patriots will most likely pick somewhere between 28-32 in the first, and the 49ers would pick somewhere between 33-35 in the 2nd.

So. Dumb.

Wonder who the Patriots plan to add. Brady is the only QB on the team now. Be funny if they get Kaepernick

Nope, they are going to sign Hoyer. I will avatar bet someone right now that they sign him. The 49ers are releasing him.

Err, to be clear, I didn't say it made logical sense. I just said it made football PR sense.

A 2nd round pick for 8 games and negotiating rights (when the only real leverage is that you just guaranteed to pay him top 5 QB money next year), when all anyone talks about are newbie QBs, is tough to say makes logical sense.

You may actually be right. There are a TON of 49er fans who actually think this is a brilliant move. Of course these people are morons like this guy

Got a feeling they're going to trade Hyde

And get back a 2nd pick. Saquon Barkley is our future RB. O-Line and edge rusher will follow. CB in free agency. Next year is going to be epic!

Stolen from ninersnation. I voted a 1 for the record.

Cowboys RB Elliott denied injunction by judge

I'm guessing this doesn't really mean anything, and he will still find a way to play? Just like the same shit that went on with Brady?

All of this is really confusing. They must know that he is going to lose in the long run. May as well do your 6 game suspension and get it over with.

When there is a match up in our fantasy league tonight with guy up 3.82 going into tonight against Tyreke Hill (only guy left between the two). Half PPR, that early pick for the -1 he threw on the trick play negating the 2 catches for 38 yards that would normally be a winning 4.8, but now a 3.8 leaving the idle dude up 0.02 and we're in the 4th. Even a catch that loses 4 yards will get it done, this is hilarious.

PSA: Alex Smith has yet to throw an interception this season.

But to be fair, neither has Kaepernick.

I have no fucking idea what Lunch and Shanahan are doing. It's starting to feel like this "rebuild" may take a decade. Fucking thing sucks and wasting a 2nd round on such an unproven seems really knee-jerk.

It's not like you can get a proven quarterback for a 2nd round pick. They have half a season to find out if he's a legit option or if they need to go after Cousins in the off season. I am not saying it's the trade of the century, but I don't get the butthurt. I do think that he has a tough row to hoe if he's going to play this season though, considering the state of the o-line.

It's not like you can get a proven quarterback for a 2nd round pick. They have half a season to find out if he's a legit option or if they need to use their first rounder on a different unproven quarterback or go after Cousins in the off season. I am not saying it's the trade of the century, but I don't get the butthurt. I do think that he has a tough row to hoe if he's going to play this season though, considering the state of the o-line.
