Probably doesn't mean much that Smith hasn't thrown an INT yet since he barely ever throws anyway. Oh wait he has the second highest total throwing yards in the league and a higher yards per attempt than Tom Brady.

Good choice 9'ers and Jim Harbaugh. Grats on choosing the anti-American faggot wearing pig socks and Fidel Castro shirts that literally nobody in the league wants anything to do with at this point. You're good at your jobs.

I have no fucking idea what Lunch and Shanahan are doing. It's starting to feel like this "rebuild" may take a decade. Fucking thing sucks and wasting a 2nd round on such an unproven seems really knee-jerk.

Instead you want to use a first round pick on an unproven QB. Garappolo has played more in the NFL and well than anyone in the draft. Its always a gamble.

I'm just curious as to why they waited. The Pats could have snagged high 1st round picks for him during the off season.

Yea I'm not sure why Bill didn't strike with Jimmy while the iron was hot, but it hasn't cooled down too much. A high 2nd rounder is good value for a backup QB with 90 total career snaps.

This is a GREAT deal for the 49ers. Anyone who thinks otherwise is either autistic or doesn't like Jimmy G.

They can franchise tag him next year if they want a longer look. If they want a longer look that would mean he didn't exactly light it up in his cameo for them the remainder of this year. Which also means if he wants to get paid, he is going to have to put up numbers and produce in 2018, which is a win win for the 49ers.

Not only that, but whether we sign him to an extension after he does tear shit up the rest of this season, or not, we can trade our top 2018 1st rounder to a QB hungry team and turn it into more 1st and 2nd round picks. (we still have the Saints 2nd round pick in 2018)

Worse case scenario he crashes and burns the rest of this year and we don't franchise or sign him.

So we can either give him a contract, franchise him, or let him go unrestricted. All for a 2nd round pick, which we had 2. How is this not an incredible deal for the Niners?

Small sample size or not the guy had a 100 plus qb rating with 6 tds and zero picks in 2 games. He showed good pocket presence, he just looked good.

wouldn't have drafted a better player than Ajayi with a 4th round pick, so definitely a good move

imo pats need help, a pass rush lineman and/or linebacker, and offensive line.

IF Jimmy G works out- and nothing right now says he won't(he Did look Really good those games he played). spend money/draft on making the offensive line better(and have a good oline coach). a good O line does wonders for the offense, more than receivers and running backs..hell almost equal(entire line) to the QB in importance.

This is excellent news for my fantasy team. Ajayi has been a huge disappointment.

Wonder who the Patriots plan to add. Brady is the only QB on the team now. Be funny if they get Kaepernick

dream scenario: Pats show major balls and don't pick up any qb before the deadline, because, you know, Belichick likes to do his own thing . Then Brady gets hurt in Denver (nothing major but out for like 4-5 weeks), and Pats are fucked and Bills win the afc east

I imagine that the pats will just sign Hoyer, who got released by the 49er's when the trade happened, originally he was in the trade agreement. he has played for the pats before and should know the system "basics" ok.

Report: Jackson, coaches ‘irate’ Browns did not get Garoppolo

Surely this is proof the 49ers fucked up. The Browns wanted him, therefore he must be jinxed!

So I am still not sold on this entire deal, just because I feel like Garoppolo is just going to be another failed QB who looked good because he backed up Brady and was in a great system. That being said, who knows what else the 49ers would have picked with that 2nd round pick. Maybe he works out, maybe not. Like I said before, I hope they prove me 100% wrong.

Ajayi to the Eagles was good for both teams. He has knee and hip issues, so he can work for a contender as his career is likely going to be limited.

Gase has mentioned having to dumb down the offense because not enough players are taking their work home to learn the system (he called out Ajayi and a couple others without naming them). Ajayi has almost no presence in the passing game and misses blocking assignments, and stormed out of the locker room after beating the Jets because he felt he didn't get enough touches (23 att 50 yards or so). I wish him luck though, and this is good for fantasy owners.

edit: Jarvis Landry did not get extended because he is living off his talent, and isn't putting in the requisite time that the coaches need for the system to thrive. He may be traded for the right price, so don't be surprised if he goes.

I don't buy that Belichick actually believes something like that. Pats just fleeced the 49ers for a 2nd round pick and it's as simple as that.

We'll see. If Jimmy G re-signs there, it might work out. Kyle Shanahan has had some pretty good offenses. That said, I don't think the Niners are there yet, they'll need a few drafts. Will the club (and Jimmy G) wait that long?

haha, shit like this though is part of the reason the Rams let him go, even if he is a far superior player to TJ.

He can clearly play in a good system. If the 49ers cant build a good system thats a failing of the team and i dont think any QB will fix that.
