Tackling hard is now illegal in the NFL. That call just now in Saints/49ers proves that.

Yeah, that penalty is similar to the one the 49ers got called against them earlier. There is nothing the defender can do. It's stupid

The answer is probably something like different degrees of "Unnecessary Roughness". Similar to flagrant fouls in the NBA.

It puts the defenders in literally an impossible position. The receiver is falling down, they are going to tackle them, there is no way to know where their head is going to be. It's just stupid
