What did the NFL pay him millions of dollars to settle in the first place, while leaving themselves open to a secondary lawsuit from him at the same time? Not that the retardation of that situation (or this current one) surprises me when the NFL is involved.
Dude could sue the NFL for not sending him a Christmas card this year. They were always 'open' to another lawsuit.
No team had shown him any interest in what...3 years? There was a good chance he was already going to sue them, claiming they were blackballing him based on race/bias. And the suspicion was that this was entirely Kaeperdick's intent: he knew by now that no one was going to touch him. So why keep at it? Because he was less interested in playing and more interested in suing.
People complain about the NFL's preconditions...but why? Who here would want to consider rehiring a former employee that dragged them through the mud like this? I'd want some preconditions too.
People defending Kaep in this must be fucking high. If he really just wanted to play in the NFL again, he'd accept some concessions instead picking this particular hill to die on. Like the entire employability clause...he was really fucking particular about the terms, for someone in his position, right? If that was me, going into that tryout with Kaep's amount of baggage, I'd be fucking thanking EVERYONE for the opportunity.
I don't usually support Stephen A but this sounds more likely to me. Has anyone noticed how he's changed the way he talks since he was 'oppressed'? Some really stupid rubes out there. He's not playing again. He doesn't want to. Any college QB could have put together that awesome workout at a high school.
I honestly believe the martyr thing. I don't know that it's conscious, though. He grew up so white that he'd make Colin Powell blush. Dude probably feels some sort of guilt about the 'plight' of black folks, and he's searching for his own identity as an adult. And it sure as shit isn't as a white NFL QB, LOL. What would cement Kaep's status as a brother? Being victimized by the white man. By the system.
That's probably not a very PC take on things, but fuck it. He's been given more chances and has had more opportunities than most. Yet here he is putting all this effort into being a victim.
