Defense in general has been horrific across the NFL this season, for the most part. There are a lot of reasons for it, but I think its mostly the lack of pre-season and no actual crowd noise to disrupt snap cadences. I can name maybe two ok Defenses and two actual good ones (and the good ones are both undefeated). At this point it will take another months before Defenses get to what can be called mid season form in any other year. Teams that can outscore are winning, outside of the couple with decent Defenses. And if your QB has an off day, you lose the shootout like what happened to GB and Pats this week.
Sad state of the Lambs is that they are going to need Goff to play above his range until their Defense gels, which is a boat nearly every other team is in at the moment. Except the NFC Least, they are just all around terrible and snakebit.
