and then uber uberest posted when someone mentioned boston. son are you dumb?

if you want to recap my previous couple of posts:

1. the rangers block shots more than any other team
2. they're playing the bruins
3. Chara plays for the bruins
4. Chara has the hardest slapshot in the NHL
5. not using full cages is antiquated and clearly 1 unlucky shot away from changing

I keep finding myself rooting for the pens and I don't know why. Couple close calls for Vokoun there but I sense an early pp goal next period.

If you cup the balls I'll work the shaft.

You had me at "cup"... you had me at "cup"... /tear

It's hard not to respect Pittsburgh, so long as your not the team playing them. Also it turns out I hate them far less than their opposition thus far. I just tend to root for the underdog usually but so far that hasn't been the case.

Fuck, at least Merrith was humble in his stealth braggery (made up word, what of it??). <3<3 Merrith =)
It's easy to be humble when the only thing you're bragging about is how likely it is your team will blow a 2-0 series lead. I admit I was rooting for the Rangers after you came out and dominated Game 7, I wish they had gotten a split up in Boston.

What a stupid sloppy play by Cooke. Should have been a penalty even as an accident, control yo stick asshole.

edit: Wish Iginla would bury one of these open shots. He's had more shots in 3 games this series than he did in 6 against the Isles(8 shots on Friday).

edit2: Shorthanded!? Motherfucker! Epic pass and redirect though.

I was just typing up a post about how they were gonna call some ticky tacky penalty on the Pens any minute now. Hate that shit, make up calls and pity calls can suck a dick.

I was literally just texting my dad that very thing; he said, "Oh shit Brooks" and I said "Bullshit call in 3, 2, 1..."

And sure enough, tripping. Fuck man.

Didn't matter, penalty was over and shifts changed. Mark Eaton having his stick gangraped by a teammate and Condra right before the goal was the shitty part=P Condra use his mighty crotch to hold it and a Pens player got between them and launched it.

edit: And the real biggest thing was Ottawa not giving the Pens any good looks at the goal and Anderson/Sens giving up absolutely no second chances. Pens would have the puck down there for an extended time but only get a single shot at most. Just good D.

One day, teams will learn to not just sit on a 1 goal lead. That late PP they had was just an embarrassment, could have easily ended the game there by doing more than dumping in from center then backing off to their own blue line.

Pens had a 6-3 edge in PP chances tonight. Having missed the game because I was out all day, was the ticky tack penalty really that bad? Otherwise you sound like Rags' fans who complained about the refs throughout our series

It was weak, but it's just the predictability of the timing. Guy went down awkward in the corner, home crowd wanted a call, within 60 seconds there's a whistle on something borderline. It wasn't a make-up for the holding on Phillips, but for the dude who went down.

I pointed out the huge bullshit make-up one that went in the Pens favor against the Isle a week or so ago, except that one actually led to a goal for the Pens while this one was just obnoxious but ultimately not directly part of the outcome. It's just a part of hockey that isn't going away ever that I hate, it doesn't go against the Pens any more than any other team. Call shit right, if you fuck up accept it and move on without trying to make it right by calling something you normally wouldn't, and don't let the crowd influence calls.

Comes down to the same "be consistent" shit we always complain about. If you watch the whole game you'd think the second period was part of an entirely different game, they decided for 20 minutes to call every little thing, then swallowed the whistles again in the 3rd.

I agree consistency is the entire problem. Any longtime fan understands there are certain "rules" to how penalties get called and evened out sometimes, and that only magnifies in the playoffs...but none of that shit would be necessary if they were just more consistent with how they called a game. As you said, when they suddenly start whistling everything in one period when the rest of the game they're swallowing the whistle, it can fuck up the entire flow of the game. I think the league suffers from a lot of their veteran refs retiring over the last couple years. The younger refs aren't up to snuff yet.

Well if they knew it was coming they should have tightened up their play. It happens in every arena, especially in Crosby's with his Glass Jaw. That penalty didn't cost you the game. Your inability to finish or produce offense against a stale D, did.

If the Wings can start taking advantage of the powerplay every once in awhile then I think you Blackhawk fans should be a little worried.

Ruh Roh.

I could see the Wings losing this if they keep having fucking retarded penalties. Seriously, play smart.

Edit: Hmm I'm not sure if that was truly interference or not.
