I actually planned to watch the game but I completely forgot about it as I was getting drunk on my balcony by 2 pm with a bunch of people. We had a bunch of Ukrainian girls here, completely blanked out on the game.

Yes. The Hawks completely outplayed the Kings. The single Kings goal was a shitty pass from Boland + Fluke bounce. Crawford played well, but Quick played amazing. It's rare that the losing goalie is the #2 star while the winning goalie isn't any of them.

I saw the highlights, how the fuck was that Cooke hit a major + misconduct? The dude he hit clearly saw him coming, and turned square to the boards at the last second knowing full well he was about to get smoked. Cooke didn't even hit him that hard. Can't go bitching about injuries if you're not going to at least attempt to protect yourself. Dumbass.

I agree, given Matt Cooke's pristine history, it is wildly inaccurate for anyone to think that'd he intentionally injure another player.

But for consistency sake, Marchands should have also been a 5 minute. Both are extremely dangerous plays. I hope Pittsburgh continues to try and play a bruising series, it plays so well into the Bruins. Pittsburgh is much more talented offensively than the Bruins, to try and slog it up in the corners is playing to their own weakness. You saw it last night, they can throw their weight around, but they are just not tough enough defensively or at goalie to play 1-0 or 2-1 games.

I put Marchand, Burrows, Crosby, Avery all on the same level. Just pussies who won't fight, and pull the cheapest shit after whistles. I don't know anyone that respects any of their games. But in Crosby's case and a lesser extent Marchand, you can't deny their talent, which makes it even more infuriating.
