I would love Crosby if his face didn't make me always wanna punch it. Him and Malkin have the douchiest faces in the nhl =\
Crosby has the douchiest face, by far. Malkin just looks retarded. Like, he has to focus to remember he can breathe through his nose. He's just a really ugly, stupid looking man. Sometimes his parents are at games and when the camera shows them you are just like "Yeah, it makes sense now." The Malkins are not a pretty family.

Ovie looks like he clubs women with a branch and drags them back to his cave. But he looks like he'd be having a lot of fun the whole time.

I couldn't help but laugh at this. Ovechkin's going to have fun doing whatever his entire life I'm convinced. His finance is also pretty hot and they seem like the real deal.

I'm curious, how much are they playing Murray since he was traded to the Pens?

Wild down 2 early to the oilers. If they can fail out of the playoffs by losing to edmonton and colorado that would be impressive.

I don't think it will happen, but if The Wild miss the playoffs, I will laugh my ass off. Two fourteen million dollars contracts for this year, Jesus Christ.

Just goes to show you can't buy your way to a successful team in hockey. You have to build one. That's not to say that the Wild down the road can't build a good team around Suter and Parise, but with the cap in hockey it's a fine balance between having 3-5 big money contracts and filling out the other dozen or so spots with high value, good players. The Wild just don't have much depth, and they might be fucked goaltending wise in a couple years with Backstrom getting old and Harding having MS.

Nice to see the Oil finally beat Backstrom at home. He was 17-0 against the Oilers at home prior to last night, jesus.

Suter I totally agree with but I really think the market offers a player like Parise way too much. A guy that small that goes to the net as hard as he does is going to eventually have diminishing returns. If you consider how many other high end snipers get paid a fraction of what Parise does, it's beyond retarded that he got that much money. He's not even remotely top-tier. But hey, the market is the market.

Need minnesota to win so they move up to 7th place and bump wings down to 8th, so the wings can get properly shat upon by the Blackhawks

Totally not worried about the playoffs as I don't see the Red Wings having any real chance, the streak is what is most important to all the Detroit fans I know.

Edit: Actually, it isn't possible for the Red Wings to get in 8th place anyways. Red Wings will be 4 points ahead of Minnesota.

With the assumption that they had to come together, which seems like the case, is it worth it then? I understand they're incredible long contracts, but if you concede that the only way you were going to get Suter was by signing Zach too, I don't think the 7.5 mil hit for each of them is that unreasonable. They're also two relatively young players dropping into a team thats future is pretty highly tied to our young prospects. Barry Melrose predicting MN in the Cup this season was just dumb. The team was looking toward the future regardless of how much fair weather fans or analysts want to see immediate results. And even then we're in the playoffs.

I didn't get to watch the EDM game but how did the first 3 goals go down? I know they pulled Backstrom right after. Pretty random game from him.

Anyway whatever, they took care of business tonight. MN played Chicago pretty tough this season. We're such a mess of a team though and really sputtered into the playoffs. If it was a month ago I'd feel pretty good about things. As is April was a rough one for this team.

Only thing I cared about was keeping Detroits streak alive. I've given the NHL a giant fuck you all season due to the lock out and haven't watched a single game all season. But I did care about Detroits streak.

Now that that is taken care of I can continue say fuck off to the NHL until next season.

What's Detroit's record against the Ducks this season?
