I was glad they could laugh about it after Oshie took some time going down the runaway after banging knees with Sid earlier in the game. Btw, a lot of whining about that from certain Caps fans when I think it was pretty obviously just incidental contact. Oshie makes a move at the last second and only gets his upper body out of Sid's path. Whatevs.

I'm pretty excited for the World Cup, maybe just because Kuznetsov made Team Russia and Holtby is in for Canada. Also Orlov made the Team Russia roster. Ovechkin, Backstrom, Oshie, and Carlson were all pretty much givens for Russia/Sweden/USA.

The Crosby "hit" could have and probably should have been a penalty, but the idiots calling it intentional are just being the usual blind haters. It was a very clumsy attempt at an open-ice hit and Oshie dodged 90% of it. Dassit.

The thought of Mr. Glass trying hits like that on purpose terrifies me. Knee-on-knee is almost as dangerous for the hitter as the hittee.

As for the World Cup, I might have to get myself a Maatta Finland jersey.




If I can find it cheap from China.

Yeah at most it's a minor penalty. There is a certain subset of Caps fans that forever want some of the other stars of the league taken to task for their secret dirty ways (and yes, Sid has qualified for that list on occasion in the past), but they do so by jumping on any little incident they think they can spin to fit the bill, while this was making a mountain out of a molehill.

Heh, that's good, although they should be careful taking that this year. It could be the year we finally make another deep run and finally win the thing. This roster is light years better than any other during Ovechkin's time here. Top to bottom. If we pull it off and win the Cup, going to be an awful lot of haters that have to sit there and stop talking.

He's a goalie, they're all head cases. No explanation needed. Why the fuck he didn't just shake his helmet off like most goalies do when they want a whistle, I have no idea. Dwayne Roloson got so good at it I'm pretty sure he just flexed his scalp and his helmet would fly off, no shaking needed.

He got hurt on the play and was ignored by the refs for the whistle. He was out for the 3rd period and out today from neck spasms. I love the man, but he can be a bit whiny and that was.... odd for sure. Too lazy to find/post the vid but right after geno slashed his hands behind the net and still no whistle.

Doesn't really matter sid was "on" and we were straight outplayed the last half of that game.

Literally got home at the end of what I heard was a 9 minute delay for like 3 looks at that. I still haven't seen an angle so I don't know.

Justice for Oshie to rip that 2nd goal though after getting the most blatant cross check right in the schnozz in plain view of everyone on ice but the refs didn't want to give us a 5 on 3.

Sorry that last post was for the play that Oshie made in the 3rd on the wrap. Still haven't seen any good views of the Beagle goal.

They finally showed it right before the post-game wrapped up. Goal post cam showed it barely pass the line so good call I guess, just odd the way it all played out. Didn't help that the Ranger bench replay system wasn't working, hence the wasted challenge.

Much needed win there. Trying to turtle against the caps is plain stupid, was fully expecting AT LEAST a tying goal. Thank god Raanta was excellent tonight. If it was Lundqvist in net, Ovie would have scored 6 points.

Also just read an article where Holtby defended Lundqvist for tossing the net and am dangerously close to liking him for it. Why can't MAF show such "class"??
