Coincidentally, Marek was talking about this on his podcast yesterday. The record for most 100+ pt teams to make the playoffs is 12. Good chance that record gets broke this season. He has a pretty good discussion about the current downward trend of league parity.

Dom Luszczyszyn had an interesting look into the stats about having to play a heavier, more physical game in the playoffs today. Some charts and quotes from his article:
Heavy Score being a mix of weight, hits and hits taken. They are split into groups of around 20 players. The quick version is that the smallest, least physical players have performed the worst over the last decade.
Size has been more successful than Skill in the last couple of seasons.

It's not really predictive at all but it's an interesting look at how the NHL is a copy cat league and teams have followed the successful formula lately.

Samsonov really blew it in the 3rd period. I've never seen a goalie who loses their stick as much as he does. Ovechkin salvaging a point for us ties us with Pitt with 5 games each to go. They have tiebreaker edge, though.

These worthless goalies have shut the window on us being a legitimate contender. The team is already old, the window was probably 2 years or so left max IF we had league average goalies. As is, the window closed last season imo. I fully expect a round 1 sweep, especially if we get Florida
