I like the leafs, but seeing them fail has become such a fun tradition that only gets funnier. It almost seems too perfect for them to lose game 7. Like, no way can that franchise be that cursed.

If we didn't have 2018, I'd still claim we just as if not more cursed than the Leafs. Thank goodness 2018 happened.

Just remember, it took the Cubs over 100 years to break their curse. You guys got at minimum another 46 years to go.

Av's making Vegas their bitch.

Av's/Bolts would be one of the most evenly matched SCF in awhile

Wonder what his next deal will look like in another 2 years. absolute steal currently

Like, if I were the GM I wouldn't even be able to make eye contact with him. He's gonna ask for McDavid money and term. If they win a cup, he will probably get it, but if not it's gonna be interesting.

He said he was gonna take a discount. He learned from his boy Sid. He will probably make a shade more than Rantanan.

Maybe I'm just spoiled in the land where we pretend we don't have backup goalies, but wtf would Vegas start Lehner over Fluerry?

Im not a Hockey fan, but I do root for the Bruins during playoff season and have had a passing interest when I was younger watching Gretzky. My buddy was also a huge Avalanche fan in the mid to late 90's and would try to get me to watch. NHL 94 was a baller game too.

Anyway, I was bored looking up NHL records and stats today.

Wayne Gretzky's career stat wise is fucking unbelievable. No wonder why he was picked for sportsman of the decade in the 80's. Gretzky was more dominant in Hockey than Jordan was in Basketball IMO. How the fuck did he win, what 8 straight MVPS? He had 11 straight seasons of 100 plus assists, and FOUR 200 plus point campaigns. He scored NINETY TWO fucking goals in a single season in 85 86 I believe?

And on top of all that he was not even a big imposing guy, nor was he fast. He could barely bench press 140 lbs, and was listed at 172 bs. So he wasnt having success because of physical attributes. And I know nothing of the NHL really, this is just from memory watching Sportscenter highlights in the 90s and looking up his stats. Actually watching the guy dominate during the 80's must have been something else.

None of those Gretzky stats compares to the 2 craziest ones in my mind. Even if you took away his 894 goals (the most all time), he'd still have more points than any other player in history on assists alone. And the 2nd is fewest games to reach 1,000 points scored, only he did it twice:

The fewest number of NHL games required to reach the mark was 424, set by Wayne Gretzky. Second quickest was Mario Lemieux, achieving the mark in his 513th game. In a sense, Gretzky was the fastest and the second fastest, as he scored his second 1,000 points (the only player ever to reach 2,000 points) only 433 games after scoring his first 1,000 points.

Just ridiculous.

Also Montreal taking the 1-0 lead in the 2nd here is the best thing that could happen for this game.

Where are the fans man. Don't they have vaccines in Canada? I thought this shit was supposed to be sacred in Canada.
