You asked?

I was just drawing attention to the discord and hated starting to boil over amongst the populace.
And there's a nice video of two black guys beating the crap out of someone and yelling you voted for Trump. Now do you think the fault lies with the fellow that has not taken office yet , or the leader that ran the country and fostered this attitude for the last 8 years.

In my opinion it's a mix of Obama/left shenanigans and the fact that this kind of situation is inevitable when an entire generation is raised to believe that their opinions are the only ones that matter and that if they throw a big enough tantrum they can get and do whatever they want.

I'd say the fault lies with the 2 black guys who did the crime. I also linked that story.

Yet you want to blame the current division on Trump instead of those acting like lunatics? Can you be consistent at least?

I have never said all the current division in America is Trump's fault, you made that up. Our problems go deeper.

I voted for Obama, twice. But this pic illustrates a good example of what I would call a problem. People with problems, most of their own causing, have been convinced, and conditioned, to blame them on something else. Whether it be prejudice, bigotry, misogyny, xenophobia, etc....And I'm not suggesting that those things dont exist. But they are not the contributing factor to most peoples personal problems.

If anyone remembers the '04 keynote address Obama gave at Kerry's convention. One statement I remember was "we need to eradicate the slander that says a black youth with a book is acting white". Do you think white people were accusing blacks with books of acting white? It was a statement about unhealthy culture and personal responsibility. And instead what we got was victim culture, and the idea that noones problems were of their own making and required their own resolution.

No trump supporter on this board would suggest that white people do not have an easier path through the candyland board of life than others.

But conditioning people to default to "the game is rigged", "how come you get to be banker" (monopoly), you read the back of the card first (trivial pursuit)....etc. Is not a healthy lesson to teach anyone. Rather than improve, they revolt.

That is the complaint against Obama's presidency. He had, and started with, and opportunity. And he was either ineffective, or lazy.

As I run through the idea that Trump will be in the White House, I am starting to see more positives.

He's gonna get things done.

Modern politicians are too hog-tied in their choices and decision making. "Can we do this??" "well the problem is that if we do, then this group here will be affected in this way, that other little group could have a slight drop in . . .something" "the bulk of people will net an improvement, but these little other things need to be considered"

And noting gets done.

With Trump calling the shots, he will just make the big choice of what needs doing and make it happen. And also, you can't get that rich by making dumb choices.

I said that the problem is with modern politicians. Because I was thinking of a good example of the older mind-set, being the moon race. It was something important, got to be there first, can't have the Soviets be listed in the history books as the ones who did it.

So the project happened. It cost massive amounts of money, when you see the time-frame in which they were sending Saturn 5 rockets up there only several months apart. Just incredible. Something that would never happen with the modern politicians.

Love the emotionally triggered Hitler meme'ing the right is doing. Sorry that a bunch of prominent politicians, pundits, artists, comediennes, and intellectuals compared Trump's rise to Hitlers. Never refute any similarities, just get triggered every time.

Prominent people who compared Mitt Romney or John McCain's ascension to Adolph Hitler's : 0

It was requested to me by Olscratch Olscratch that I not allow @Amod to edit the title of this thread.

Like the democracy most of us live in the moderators are the actual power here and I just facilitate their control. I do not tell them what to do, only things not to do that might hurt the board in some way.

Recently there was a change to the title of the politics thread as a joke. I chastised them for that. The reason was because it really screws up the rankings on Google when a thread can no longer be found. I told them that screenshots and the rickshaw they can edit what they want for titles as jokes. The well established threads though and everywhere else there needs to be a very good reason.

They know the rules and the intent so I leave it up to them to decide how they will handle this thread. It's not my call.

It's worth noting that it was AG who changed it, also, not me. Since I'm sure Olscratch will accuse me of it.
