Like all the Drizzts books where no one was really in any danger of dying and how that made them unreadable? I mean, he killed off more major characters in 1 Star Wars book than in the first 20 books of his Drizzts series combined.

I hate to do this, but your entire point is invalidated because you showed your ass. The nephew of chewie, lowbaca, did not have a speech impediment. He had a mini protocol droid that he carried around. The one with the speech impediment that you're thinking of was only in a couple of books, and I don't remember if he was even directly related to chewie.
If you had read any of the EU, you'd know killing chewie was way worse. Anakin played just as big a part in the stories after his death as he did before.
A script where all the major characters have kids and we follow the kids around is the worst idea in the world. Might make the movie worse that the prequels.
I'd rather see Han, Luke and Leia get sent back in time where their characters are all CGI and they play out the events of KOTOR.

I thought their intended "design" was to put out a "trilogy" movie every other year while putting out an off shoot movie within the universe (The Adventures of Bobba Fett!) on the years in between.
essentially putting out a movie every year within the universe. I may be wrong on that but when they were doing their initial announcements I thought that was the plan.
