It seems that you guys have forgotten everything outside of the movie was made non cannon by GL so everything that has happened in any media outside of film is null. Everything that Star Wars nerds (including me) once knew is invalid and must be forgotten. If Ackbar didnt make the B-Wing in the movie then it didnt happen. If Luke didnt say a Master shouldnt get involved in things after a certain point of his training during the movie it didnt happen.

Unless that is a recent change everything we've been talking about concerning the Legacy era was approved by Lucas before it was even written. Half a dozen authors worked on this from a pre-approved outline was my understanding. The books that have been printed since the sale are still coming with the appropriate time lines in place. =P

I understand what you are saying. Right after the sale to Disney and the announcement of the new movies GL came out in an interview and said that everything that wasnt on film wasnt a part of SW cannon anymore. I have read the books and think its total BS but what can you do...he basically still owned it.

The author of the Sith and Jedi training book, the ones with the delux editions where the book opens from this pod thing and its really cool etc etc did a talk I was working at and I knew the guy that booked him- He also did some of the visual guides (vader and falcon I belive) the books that go layer by layer of the construction etc- kinda like a kids pop up book- of sorts...
anywho..
He had access to the "this is canon" database and it was insane- it was really only managed by one dude and it was WAY too much- there where many loops and gaps within offical cannon etc- He wrote a book that was 1 month from shipping when Bioware came in and changed a buncha stuff- and because of their "deal" bioware could change certian things and history- but because his book was a canon-authorised book it had to comply with what bioware just made up out of their ass and he and his published had to go back at their cost and rerun everything and then rush it out to meet distributor obligations...
I dont blame him for waving the magic wand and saying start over- the movies are what you have to work with- it is now your world and history as a baseline.
Edit: I kinda remeber it was called the Jedi Codex? and the dude whos job was to oversee it - his offical job title was keepr of the codex on his paystub business card etc lol... but really it was an evolved job from something else and became way too massive for one person and the many many different sources of cannon material and their timelines etc

Some of you guys suggesting Carrie Fisher reprise her role, even as an elder matriarchal figure really need to be reminded what she looks like in 2013...

To bad the Emporer invited the Rebels and Luke to a Death Star 2 party where the unfinished yet operational DS2 was being protected by a force field from a neighboring moon that he allowed the Rebels to land on and attempt to destroy.
