I'm reading that if you do live chat you can still get the deal for $30 more. They actually "sold out" through people doing that with chat the last few days. I don't think anyone actually got the deal via the website. It looks like upgrading the cpu cooler to liquid for $50 is highly recommended. Yeah, it'll get me through for a while if I can ever land a goddamned 5900x. Once I can get that and 32gb of ram, I should be solid at 1080p for a good while. My 3570k and 16gb of DDR2 ram is struggling to keep 60fps at 1440p, even at low settings, in a game like BDO.

Dude. My 1080ti wasn't cutting it at 5120x1440. I said fuckit, and paid the scalpers. I am honestly happy I did.

That was my last proc I had. Then Battlefield 5 came out and I would get 1 sec freezes in game, barely 40-50 FPS. That was with the 1070 . Changed the proc/mo bo and ram to a i5 9600K and it ran at 70-80 fps after that. Toal bottleneck.

Yeah, I bought the system in the summer of 2012 and it wasn't even top of the line THEN. 9 years later and I might as well be running on a pair of coconuts. Fantastic processor, but it's definitely showing its age nowadays. I just wish I could find a fucking 5900.

Now you're making me wonder if my 8700K is bottlenecking my 3090. I mean of course it's bottlenecking it but I don't know if it'd be worth spending the cash for a marginal upgrade in that department, especially right now.

Honestly, it's more about the cores and the shitty ram for me. 8th gen probably isn't bottlenecking shit all that much, compared to my 3rd gen shit box.
