They solved Mist Mist issue!

I'd like to see a PC case that's also a big HEPA air filter. I bet they could run fairly silently with a big ass fan doing all the work. It would be kinda big but you'd ensure virtually no dust ever gets into the PC portion and then pipe the hot air to the central air return register instead of going outside. If I ever finish my garage shop I might go all mad scientist and rig something like this up using box fans and some super-high MERV 20x20 filters. Would be quite a conversation piece if nothing else lol.

We talked about it a couple weeks ago. Its either going to look ugly as fuck or you're going to have at least "SOME" latency by routing your PC forever the fk away. The type of games I play, I dont think it would matter for the PC to have an extra 15ms x2. Thats using the newest shit that even Linus himself uses in his house. But using that setup on a FPS would be god awful.

4k/120 is a lot of fucking data to push through a HDMI or Displayport cable. Make sure your HDMI cable or whatever has the bandwidth rating to handle it.

Funny, as soon as I saw this my C1 has started randomly turning off and back on. I ordered a couple of 8k HDMI cables.

We've already got a great example of heat dispursion in our homes per dryers.

Why not just 3D-print an output on the back of the PC and use dryer-sized vent hose and a dryer attachment on the house?

Most things sold as "8k cables" on Amazon are trash.

You want "Ultra High Speed HDMI 2.1 Certified" cables. They must say certified, and ideally have a picture of the certificate logo in the listing.

Also, there is an extremely WEIRD phenomenon with very high speed cables that lack sufficient shielding causing displays to freak out due to the EMI produced by the compression cylinders on office chairs.

Learned this shit the hard way. Definitely, definitely follow the advice of "Must see picture to verify that they are certified." Getting shafted by this type of shit makes you hate people so much.

So, yeah, the C1 screen is now turning black (seems like it's turning on/off, but it's not powering down) randomly. Happens in a split second. Happens more when I'm playing Warzone though, so I'm guessing it has to do with data? Well, I say that and it's happened 4x typing this. Um, wtf?

And I'm also getting weird lines of static across the screen as well. Only happens in like one or two spots, but will stretch the length of the screen. It's happens less often than the on/off annoyance.

The cables I linked aren't necessarily the nicest, most flexible cables you can get, but they work, and they're cost-effective.

yeah i bought 10 HDMI 2.1 cables from amazon once i found one that worked in 4k, 120hz VRR/Dolby Vision/HDR/etc mode for me and threw out all the HDMI cables I had sitting around, not worth tearing your hair out trying to figure out what the fuck is wrong and it turns out to be a shitty cheap cable.

Its even worse nowadays due to putting stuff in between like switches, audio receivers, capture stuff, etc. Some TVs also only do "true" HDMI 2.1 on certain ports, something to check out. I believe the LG OLEDs for a few years now do full everything on all ports. One caveat though, LG sells a "cheaper" model of their TV, the A1 (A2, etc) which only does 60 hz and has other limitations.

(Used to) have AV receiver with HDMI / Out hooked up to the TV. The number of drops due to bad handshaking, cables, etc that required resetting everything made me rip it all out and put the shit directly to the TV. I was the only one that liked surround sound anyhow and I'm never in the living room. Wife could care less. Sad part is all this BS is to punish the innocent/DRM anyhow and anyone here knows how to get around that shit anyhow.

I had this happens with a displayPort cable; everytime I would rotate clockwise on my chair, the screen would black out for a split second, sometimes 3 or 4 times in a row. This also happens when my long haired cat nap behind the screen : everytime he moves away, screens goes insane.
Switched to HDMI cause I had one laying around, the phenomenon stopped since.
