w/e. The guy can fuck a goat and then sacrifice it on some altar for all I care, in his life. I enjoy his movies and don't mind paying for them.

I thought this one was good - don't expect an action extravaganza like iron man or something though. This one is slower paced and more thoughtful.

I thought Cruise's line near the end was pretty funny, I was expecting some snappy one liner.

I've been a huge fan iof M83 for almost a decade, so basically my only interest in this movie is because of the score.

How did it fit the movie?

Tell me I'm not the only one who's first thought was "Morgan Freeman is Morpheus!" as soon as the spotlight hit him.

Anyway the initial twist was pretty obvious after you stopped to think about their situation for an instant and the others were pretty in your face as they were about to happen. An interstellar species capable of blowing up the moon is somehow defeated in a ground war and now exist in some Chud or Road Warrior bandit like form... yeah sure...

My rather negative review:

Joseph Kosinski must worship M. Night Shyamalan as this movie is just a series of easily (more or less) callable "twists" chained together one after another. There are plenty of other small to large things to complain about as well but mainly this just wasn't a very entertaining film. To carry on the Wall-E comparison: there are drones and not a whole lot happens in the beginning (well over an hour in Oblivion's case) but the comparison ends there as Oblivion is completely devoid of any charm or personality.

I found it to be a rather dry, dull and uninteresting film that borrows far too heavily from several others and as a result has absolutely nothing to recommend it for itself unless you like Tom's bobble head and bubble ship

. Go rewatch Terminator, Independence Day or The Matrix, you will have a better time and save some money.

well I found it to be a good movie to hold me over until the summer flicks. And I found the music was fitting.

There are a lot of good things in this movie (music, art direction, cast, etc), but, sadly, they do not amount to a very good movie. A bit of a shame really, because it feels like it might be possible to avoid some of the plot holes and absurdities while keeping the core themes and ideas of the plot.

Just finished seeing this. It's not a great movie, and the "twists" have all been done before in better movies. It's reminiscent ofMoon,Planet of the Apes,Wall-E, and there's even hints ofThe Matrixin there.

And of course, they get the technical shit wrong. The whole purpose of the "aliens" coming to Earth is to drain the oceans so they can refuel their ship. The thing is, there's more water floating around our solar system than there is in all the oceans on Earth times a million. It's easier to get at, and the aliens wouldn't have to come so far into our suns gravity well to fetch it. In fact, they wouldn't even have to come inside the orbit of Pluto since there are moon-sized bodies of water-ice just floating around out there.

The biggest mistake happens when our hero enters the big bad alien mothership in orbit of Earth. See, it turns out that the aliens aren't aliens (plural), it's an alien AI. And this alien AI has tons of drones for killing stuff, but no drones to actually do work. So it has to find planets that are already inhabited in order to clone and enslave them to do it's dirty work. You know, instead of having its own worker drones...

So what happens if it finds a planet with lots of water but no sentient life? What if the dominant form of life is fucking jellyfish?

When you get down to it, it's a post-apocalyptic love story. A good movie to take a date to, but not a good science fiction movie.

I think the music fit really well. All and all a decent pre-summer movie. I don't mind vanilla sci-fi movies if opens the idea up to more people with a lot less WTF moments than Promethis had. I wouldn't own it, but I'd watch it on cable.

Saw this movie. Its alright. Its got some good moments, its entertaining. It's missing something that'd push it over the precipice to being a great movie, but its definitely worth a rental or seeing as a matinee. I enjoyed the style and music of this movie pretty well. Some of the acting performances are pretty weak, but tom cruise did a pretty good job. The story is a tad predictable, but it thats not a huge surprise with the trailer that showed too much. It still was enough to keep me interested, especially since the pacing and action in the movie were good.

Its just an average movie that is a something to hold people over to OMG STAR TREK!!~1

Saw it tonight. I liked it a lot, but I didn't think it was great. Some parts were a bit boring. The only parts I felt were "cheesy" was the scene where he's in the helicopter and he's chasing the 3 drones shooting at them, and it's showing the close ups of his face as he "banks hard to the left" and shoots at the drones. That made me feel embarrassed for the movie, but besides that, I thought it was pretty good. I thought the drones themselves were really good characters, especially the noises they made. Special effects were basically perfect. And Olga looked absolutely gorgeous with the bangs and long hair. I mean, truly stunning, about as beautiful as a woman could be.

It was a pretty good movie. Could not stop comparing it to Portal, though. The chick looked like the chick from portal, and clearly some of the stuff near the end was a bit similar. Was interesting to see Jaime Lannister in another setting, as well.

My wife and I thought it was pretty bad. I think it could have been pretty good, not really sure what about it fell so flat for me, but it did. Special effects were excellent however.

Very much enjoyed it. Good but slightly misses great for being a bit too predictable in parts.

I thought it was solid and enjoyed it. Pacing issues really hurt the movie, heading to the climax of the movie isn't a great spot for a flashback to show what we already know.
