Bit of a slow learner eh?

If you know anything about twoplustwo, banning was a sort of hazing. Every now and then they'd take two of the most popular posters and have a survival "vote one off" type of thread and it created hilarious drama. I was selected and got voted off. No big deal, you just make a new account. There were posters with 30,000+ posts that would get banned as a joke.

Multiple wins in large field tournaments are a better assessment of real skill.
Only reason to play tournaments these days is for fame, not money. First off, too much variance. Secondly, too much rake.

You have a 10% rake (higher now, esp. in WSOP tournaments). Sometimes the entrance fee is as high as 20%. Something like a $10,000+2,000 buyin tournament, that $2,000 is a rake.

Then you have a 10% state tax deducted directly from your winnings. That adds up to 20-30% along with your entry fee.

Then it puts you on the radar of the IRS, and you're expected to pay ~30% towards tax. So now you've just had 40-60% of your prize raked. You can't beat that amount of money taken from the prize pool over the long term, nobody can, unless it's a super, super soft field or you're Ivey.

Ivey is the only professional poker play me and my friends look up to. He's great and miles ahead of the rest. He's probably the only one, besides Elzera (And a couple others) that I wouldn't play against. I'd play Helmuth, Hansen, and especially Laak.

You obviously haven't played enough live poker to know that no one gives a flying fuck about bad beat stories.

Other poker players don't care about bad beat stories. This is a gaming forum, and everybody loves hearing about that $30k PLO bad beat because it's "special". Not often do you play against a whale that doesn't mind sticking it in with a pair of fours and no redraw for $15,000 against the NFD, nut wrap, pair of kings, and backdoor NFD, and then win with a running straight.

I'm practically retired right now. I would't be if I didn't know how to play. Several friends got into online poker with me, I was the only one who "made it". I transitioned to live back in 2007. I am good at both.

That's just how I shaved that day. People tell me I look 21/22 when I'm actually 30.

My room was a mess, at that time, but I fixed it up and it looks like the second screenshot. I do very well at live games, my average is $83 over the last 4 years or whatever, since our new casino opened up. I keep a journal.

Here is the best hand of poker I've ever played. I called $400 with Q high.

Just call? Or Rebluff? - Medium Stakes Pot Limit and No Limit - Medium Stakes Poker Forum

...and won. The villain in that hand is the only poker player that I personally know IRL that is better than me.

Yes, I'm antisocial. I hate most people, I think they're disgusting.

I wish you would spend some of that poker money on some therapy. Or a new bed.

Bandwagon, read the 2+2 thread about the call with Q high before you question my knowledge of the game. All of my reasoning and thoughts are put into that hand, so you know exactly why I made it.

Very, very, very, very few players can analyze a hand that well to make the call in that position and for it to be correct.

Ivey almost made a similar call against Dwan for $600,000. That's why I respect Ivey, he knows Dwan is bluffing or has a certain range. Then again you get into the meta between two good players where people bluff with made hands, value bluffing it's called. Bluff with a pair of 4's, someone calls you with A-high, and you win the pot because your opponent is thinking, "he's either got nothing, or the nuts."

That's like 4-th level meta thinking though.

didn't you claim to be a self made millionaire at some point? you'd think with that money you'd be able to afford a bed frame... and a decorator.

I'm not a decorator, and I save my money?

I bought a house because it has value. Buying a new mattress when I don't need one doesn't.

Poker isn't guaranteed. The games could dry up, or it could turn back into the 70s where it's only spread in Vegas. That's why I'm real cautious with my $$s.

You need a new mattress. And the only value your house has is to A&E's hoarders in about 2 months when you are a new guest star.

I don't have my dog anymore. Try to take care of a 70lb Rhodesian Ridgeback that hates grass. She's scared to get dirty.

When I came home one day, I had a outdoor chair cushion laid out every 10 feet in my backyard. I couldnt understand why, until I realized my dog would lay on one at 9am, another at noon, another at 3pm, and so on. It was the way the shade was covering some during the day, so she laid them out according to which one would get sunlight... and wouldn't sit on the grass.

She'd just keep pulling the cushions off my chairs lol. Dog was so intelligent she could pull open door outward, never seen a dog do that. She'd put a paw on the frame, swipe at the handle, then jump off and yank the doors open. She could get into any room, or even into the house itself, if I didn't lock every door.

Eventually I replaced all my handles with round knobs she couldnt twist.

Sounds like it.

Playing someone I know I can beat is being careful with my $. You're not a poker superstar buddy.

I wouldn't play anyone equal to my skill or better. Someone just as good as me would be a waste of time.
