I'm in no way white knighting for Pantheon, but it's totally unfair to compare their game to World of Warcraft and the endless coin Blizzard had at their disposal. That's like comparing your friend's sneaker company in his garage to Nike.

What in the actual fuck are you talking about?

Blizzard had fewer devs for WoW than Brad has for Pantheon.

Blizzard in 2004 had far more more primitive tools than what Pantheon is using for free in 2019.

You can pick The World of Warcraft Diary by John Staats for reference on the development process of a real game (bonus points for their first cinematic, where the "director" couldn't figure out who was piloting which character on screen since nameplates were turned off, so they were firing off order across desks "orc on my left, now run. MY LEFT, NOT YOURS")

I'm to the point now in gaming where I prefer to sit on my couch and enjoy the console environment. From listening to these QAs it seems they expect people to have crazy gaming rigs to really enjoy the game.

Not a big surprise. Brad has never left 1999. We had nowhere near the entertainment glut that we have now back then, and I’ve always been under the impression he still thinks that high end gaming PCs are in every gamers home. Just because people upgraded their PCs to play something that was pretty unique in 1999 doesn’t mean that happens in 2019 where we have broadband and instant access to millions of music, games, movies, and porn. No one has told him that sadly.

He’s ready to body slam the entertainment world.

I'm not going to defend Pantheon. But this game requires a rig that's circa '12. And if you're primarily a console gamer now then wtf are you doing here?

I clearly live vicariously through you assholes. In all honesty, the console keeps the 20 hour days to a minimum.

The lack of a decent game keeps the 20 hour days to a minimum. I play more on lichess than any actual game these days.

I upgraded my pc around xmas after it being about 8 years old. But there's not much desire to play any of the tripe that's come out in the last few years.

First time I fell in there near zonein I thought it was a bug, I vaguely remember that being a really shitty corpse run that time too.

I can't remember, but will Pantheon have destructible environments?

God kaesora I still get flash backs of a massive corpse retrieval expedition we did there. Bunch of people fell in and were failing to get their bodies back for long enough that their bodies were in danger of decaying. So they called us in at like 10pm on a work night to help them. By the time we punched our way in and got all the bodies back it was fucking 6am. We never set foot in that place again.

I can’t wait to have wonderful experiences like that again.

Have they shown any water/beach zones yet?
