When I was a kid my grandpa and I were in a backhoe on an incline moving large rocks and dirt around. The back left wheel went into some kind of hole and started to tip backwards, he braced himself against a wall and held me to the far wall. Luckily it stopped but both our eyes were wide and we were panicked. I'm guessing that dumptruck driver's asshole was so puckered he was glued to the seat from the suction.

Back on topic, I wonder if Pantheon will support power leveling?

Dunno if this is a repost, just odd that it's in my Imgur library and I don't remember it

People are so desperate for something besides WoW that they are knowingly giving 300+ pledges to Brad.

Has this sunk in for any ActiBlizzard fanbois/workers yet? I try to make this point every so often and it is lost.

People are that (lol) desperate. For real.

More rendered bullshit from the the Pantheon team. It's just another excuse to post a gif at this point.

Showerthought, people never stop falling over on film, this thread could go on until the end of eternity. Which is probably the same amount of time it will take to release this.

You can get by with amateur effort in a lot of places, but amateur writing is pretty fucking glaring. Anyone remember the Hollywood writer's strike when all your favorite shows suddenly went to shit?

I remember like three weeks ago this exact thing with Game of Thrones

Yeah, for sure GoT is another example. It really started as soon as they deviated from Grrm's text. Tyrion got the worst of the dialog aspect of that. The guy was known for his witty aphorisms but after they left canon his attempts were painful to watch.

Edit: and those were professional writers that took over in GoT. Doing fantasy/historical dialog and not having it sound contrived af is really hard.

I don't think it's lost, it just doesn't mean anything. People waste money on stupid stuff all the time. A rich old lady gave her stupid dog her entire inheritance. Politicians get re-elected. The lottery makes billions every year. Chris Roberts will never make another game while he's getting paid just to develop a game. Buying new cars while living in a trailer that's worth less than the car. Putting money into Pantheon. Those are all stupid decisions because there's a lot of stupid people.

Right, almost too. Better than I had hoped for even. Thing is there's a market for classic style mmos and people here struggle with it. They aren't doing it just to be stupid and random. It is done in pure desperation for something going back to our great old ways of communal mmo gaming.

Look at WoW classic being more popular than instanced/phasing orcs with feelings ezmode game featuring muh random legendaries.

I was being flippant and you are right in a way. People are desperate for old school MMOs and there's nothing wrong with that. Some of Brad's fanbase are stupid and that's to be expected since most people aren't very bright. There's nothing wrong with looking forward to this and people can spend their money however they want but there's a reason financial advisers are a thing. People are especially stupid with managing their money.

I'm at least honest enough to admit some things

- it's gonna have crazy sploits/bugs we find and they're already gonna be backlogged with things they didn't get to

- it's gonna be a rough launch

- it will definitely come out in some form

- it will be a long time between raid content patches

All we can hope for is Brad truly "rising". We love the EQ lore, and the various original things he came up with that wasn't stolen out of some strategy game that stole from another strategy game.

The money borrowing from the game is yikes and a blinking red neon sign validating all this "remember I told you so" and faceplant gif spam. However, I don't think the rest of his team is like that.

I feel like a lot of eyes are on if this succeeds or not. It feels like a last chance for the community driven grouping experience I (we?) miss so much. I miss the server personalities, crazies, dramatic shit etc and that existing in a world with twitch is gonna be hilarious. What would EQ have been like with that? Did I mention enough times it's going to have a PVP server?

I hope you all at least wish this to succeed, if not to play, then for the ensuing hilarity of the modern world waking up in a classic EQ style MMO and being forced to deal with each other.

Again, cannot imagine everything in EQ in a twitch streamer/social media world. The Furor ultimatum being a tweet for instance, or a recorded tirade on twitch @BradMcQuaid/SoE or whoever. You have got to see the entertainment value in something like this coming to light. There will also be a PVP server which I think I've mentioned enough times and will continue to. Buffing up to go into a dungeon and throw down is awesome.

Dictated but not read. Resume face plant gifs.

I'll play. It's not something I'm looking forward to but the expense at or near release won't be beyond reasonable. The game will cost about $30 and three months worth of time will be about the same price. So, $60ish will give me about 3-4 months and a solid idea if I want to spend more. To compare this with something I'm actually looking forward to, Cyberpunk will be about $60, have tons of content and be really well made. This will cost the same with a decent amount of starting content but poorly made with lots of bugs. If it's fun, a lot can be overlooked but Brad has to give us a decently functioning game this time. Vanguard had everything but optimized content and working well......but those are important parts. I wish him well though.
