Yeah, I have this image of a room full of devs constantly scrapping/tweaking/redoing shit each time some new software/hardware drops. There needs to always be a Smed-type with their boot on the throat of these autist-perfectionists.

Room full of devs?

I'm assuming a few remote programmers/artists paid below minimum wage and then a small office with the grift team going after funding.

I don't think so. Unless they are lying, they said years ago they had at least 15 people working and had 6 and 7 figure funding(from just private investors). The former was like in 2017 the latter more recently(2019 I think?). So again either lying or someone embezzled all that money away for themself.

Hmm just looking now, an article from July, says they just got another 2.4 million in private funding. With that and previous funding, they are up to 5.4 million. Which means they had 3 million previously. Sure its not crazy levels like Star citizen with its bloated amount and 600+ workers, but its pretty far from "a few guys in a garage working in their off time making below minimum wage".

They have 3 programmers, 2 animators, 2 zone builders and 2 character artists (1 is an intern). These are people actually building the minimal game needed to keep the grift going.

Meanwhile they have about 20 executives, game designers, PR and concept artists. These are the grifters getting the cash in to pay the wages.

The grift is the same as Star Citizen and "awareness" charities which pretend to do one thing but really it's keeping the company alive ling enough to extract cash via wages.

I hope that chris perkins guy is getting bank. 2 director positions, lead designer and creative/programming producer. Seems quite a lot for 1 person :p

At first I thought they had a huge team, but then I saw that Chris Perkins and a few other execs have multiple fake jobs and are listed multiple times!

Yeah, because if there's one thing that most Game Devs in the MMO industry have, it's spare time!

Go ahead and do 6 different jobs!

It's not like most of them aren't overworked and underpaid already! Clearly Pantheon is the outlier here, and they're only doing it because they LOVE working on Pantheon!
