Not to be a "Debbie Downer" on any of this so please contribute if you desire but, if you give and if this makes, not one thing they say has to go into this game. I hope they are true to their word but ultimately they are going to make the game they think they can make.... I just hope people are not naive to think they'll grease every squeaky wheel.

Blizzard has the talent, financial resources, and production capability to rewrite their entire toolset if it suited them. But yeah I get what you're saying; shit can be reworked or added at any time. I guess, but its something I wouldn't leave up in the air with a shoestring budget and very limited resources.
I should hope they wouldn't. But if the community speaks out in one voice, as what happened on this issue, I do expect them to do exactly what they did.
Of course it is; they're talking about enabling more than just cross-server chat.

If you listened to the interview, they didn't even commit to it. They just said they liked cross server stuff and would be interested in using it if the technology allowed and it made sense.
There is no backtracking going on. I'm sure they will still be interested in exploring it if a need arises down the line in this hypothetical scenario that this game even gets made and sees some kind of success.

EQ emu isn't a free to play game. It's an unauthorized version of the game that costs nothing.
That's like saying no one will buy video games because you can pirate them.

Yeah , the worry of this crowd not wanting to pay 15/month for a well done old school game is not a concern. I'd say the vast majority of backers would scream and threaten to quit if it was announced cash shop F2P and not sub. He's already said it's sub based , which is something I much prefer too.

I'll admit , there's something about the idea of dual wielding shield bashing that I'd enjoy if done right.
EQ emulators are literally free to play. Authorized or not. Thousands of potential Pantheon customers currently make use of this option. Lots have settled in other FTP games too.
Yeah, I'm looking forward to checking that out. I imagine spiked shields would be pretty good.
